Recruiting Forum: Official MCB Nebraska Pre-Game/Game Thread

So much more fun ending the season on a high note. That was a solid win.

I hope Butch proves me and the rest of the doubters wrong next year.

Can you just imagine how many sacks DB would have gotten in his career if the officials had called holding as they should and had there been better DT's to reduce the double teams? He is going to be paid come April. Still hope the Titans take him.

Shoutout to Kongbo and McDowell. Both have had their share of struggles this season but they had good games. Really hope Kongbo rounds into form. I don't think we will truly appreciate how good Derek Barnett is until next year. Thanks for a great 3 years!

Nah man I think everyone appreciates greatly what Barnett is and what he did.

He's an all time great, easily starting DE on an all time Vols team.
There's no under appreciating that

Don't worry Barnett is gonna get his today. He won't be denied.

Just got home from the game. Not sure what they showed on TV but the scene at the game when he got the record was amazing. Glad I got to witness it firsthand with my son.

Side note: their QB wanted nothing to do with DB in the second half lol. Throwing it in the dirt almost as soon as the ball was snapped.

I have seen more holds on him than any other Vol I have watched. Of course, most weren't called.

It's like there is one set of rules for him and another for everybody else. I know I am a homer about him. However, I watched Reggie and now I have watched DB at the same age. DB is better than Reggie was in college and back then Reggie did not have to deal with the holding DB does because the rules were tougher on the O-line in terms of use of hands. Reggie grew bigger and more powerful in the NFL and was just the best. DB is a different body type and style so it may not translate as great in the NFL as Reggie. But the crap DB has put up with at this level would be all over ESPN if he played for one of their pets.

It was actually funny. He looked for #9 on every play. If he saw him within 5 yards he was running away or throwing the ball as fast as he could.
