I believe the big issue was MRSA. But from what I gather, the tech for turf has gotten a lot better.

The new field turf needs to have the rubber pellets vacuumed after use. New technology uses a UV light that radiates and "cleans" the fields. That machine is similar to a Zamboni in hockey. It is fairly expensive but well worth it.

Defense is legit period. Look at Oklahoma and Bama versus us. With Martin in the whole defense is much more aggressive overall. And coaches have freedom to call plays without fear if the CBs will hold up. Foreman's development has been huge as well.
