‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Missouri Pregame/Game Thread

Crossover edition of the locked on podcast. Nothing really of note.

Mizzou guy says Rackstraw and Abrams-drain are the stars on defense. Tyrone Hopper has been missing a lot of tackles

No surprise but he says Luther Burden is playing. He looked fine in practice yesterday.

Mizzou guy picks Mizzou to win but only because it’s in Columbia. Said if it were Knoxville he’d pick Tennessee.

we arent a good road team. we get down when one thing goes wrong.

however, missouri isn't a difficult place to play. probably on par with lexington. this team is improving. i dont see a relegation.

burden was playing from day 1. so nothing of note there. missouri talking heads, what do you want them to say?

make no mistake it will be close. if tennessee comes out, looking ahead, or not playing physical and lets misery get ahead by a td or two, i'd say we lose. if we play ****** defense, it's over.

I just want to see an aggressive defensive game plan one time on the road! If we lose playing that way, I can accept it.

Prob not gonna put a secondary sans Hadden on a lot of islands vs Burden and Wease. Recipe for disaster if pass rush doesn’t get home. Plus Cook can beat you with his legs.

Yeah I keep coming back to those things and realize we will be playing zone probably. Getting home with our DL is completely dependent on if the refs call blatant holding or not.

The spread for this game reminds me of our spread against Florida but in the opposite direction…at least up to this point. Florida spread kept decreasing as game got closer, and we couldn’t understand what in the world Vegas and bettors saw in Florida. The spread for this game has gone from +1.5 to -1.5/2. Slowly increasing. The interesting thing will be if Burden is announced to be full go, does the money coming in and the spread change dramatically.

If Burden isn’t full go, they might as well not show up.

Cooks confidence probably got shaken after playing like dogshit last week.

Skrong points are skrong.

No Hadden really kills us this game more than any other. Defense will probably need TOs. UGA needed 2 to escape by 9...at home.

Pate made a good point. For all their stats moving the ball on offense, Miss Zoo are putrid at scoring touchdowns once in the red zone.

UT's philosophy: Make them move the ball, but shut things down when they are in the red zone.

If our offense continues to be as balanced and smooth as it has been, I like our chances.
