Being awful on the road is a massive red flag. It’s the case for every road contest outside of when we had a Ferrari for an offense in 2022. And even then we still got blown out once (cheating possibility aside).

This was never a team that should have been expected to compete for championships. Lost the second best quarterback in school history, lost UT’s only Biletnikoff winner, lost the best right tackle in the country, etc.

Of course that doesn’t justify getting hammered by Mizzou, but this was never going to be a championship team.

If you think this was a championship team coming in then you are special. This was an eight win team and 9 at best. If we were on a path to 6-6 then I would be distressed. This was a two score game going into the 4th and we had just a roll off of a combination of what could go wrong did. We got whipped and hopefully we will play better goin forward but I am more concerned why we seem to be getting screwed by officials. The University needs to let it be addressed because not sure how it will get worse with what I see being called now.

It amazes me the amount of people that went from fifteen years of 5-7 to “championship or bust.”

8-4 might be where Tennessee hovers forever. It’s still better than what we’ve had. The 90’s are never coming back.

This was an 8 win team coming into the season.

But seeing how bad teams are and how relatively easy our schedule was, nine wins should have been pretty easy to get.
