I agree. I think we may be a tad over confident here.
Hurd not playing as much might not hurt us this game. When you have a big speed advantage you look to get to the edge. Kamara is more of a threat to spread the field than Hurd is.
I think Kamara gets the edge and runs wild on them. As soon as they worry more about keeping Kamara from getting the edge Dobbs pulls it and guts them up the middle.
Only problem is if Kamara is the feature back and runs wild his draft status might rise to a 4th round or so pick and he moves on.
Under Jones the worry about the mentality of the players has been wasted energy. They have always been very ready to play IMO.
Hopefully today is no different but dang it seems like human nature for the kids to be over confident with all that is being said
I think if Hurd doesn't go or is limited that would be pretty significant. Changes the game plan slightly. Remember how big Hurd was in the game against Iowa last year? Not saying it's the difference in a win and a loss but it definitely will be a pretty big factor in my opinion.
I've thought this game would be closer than most around here from the get go.
So yeah, losing Hurd makes me nervous. It hurts us from a power running standpoint as well as a formation standpoint. For some reason I doubt we go 2 RBs with Kamara and Kelly the same way we did with Hurd and Kamara.
This. Hurd is a different animal to have to tackle than Kamara. He wears on defenders. Toward the end of the 3rd quarter the secondary doesn't want to engage him.I've thought this game would be closer than most around here from the get go.

Sounds like Kamara is gone to me regardless. Vq seemed like they were really pushing that IMO
I don't think Kamara goes if he doesn't think he will get drafted. Life as an undrafted free agent trying to make the team from the practice squad isn't fun.
Coaches and GMs will always give the ones they drafted all the opportunities in the world to make it before the undrafted. They don't want it to look like they made a mistake.
This is where a good coaching staff takes an active role in the process helping them make a rational decision.
The grade he gets won't tell him that. The grading system sucks
