This may be one of the most important games of the season when we look back at it. Drop this game and it may be tough to get to a respectable win total. Need to start season off right.

As the opener against South Carolina draws ever closer my excitement along with the rest of Volnation continues to build. It's an anxious sort of excitement though with all of the unknowns due to Covid 19. At the end of the day I believe how successful the Vols will be depends mostly on QB play. Shocker I know but I just believe Guarantano will start this season like he usually does. Terribly inconsistent and unreliable. I think we see JT Shrout early in the South Carolina game and maybe as the starter for the rest of the season.

45-15 Vols.

SC will have 5 fgs. Gray will have 2 touchdowns 1 a 40+ yard run and the other a 25 yard screen pass. Wideman has a nice fade route high point on the goal line where every one freaks that we didn’t hand it off to Gray. Cimaglia will have a nice 47 yarder to end the first half. We will house a punt return and a pick 6. Shrout comes in and throws a TD to Hyatt on a streak where he doesn’t break stride. On to Missouri.

Not sure of my pick. My brain says we should have the roster to take care of business but last year happened (opening games). Will the vols be ready? Will the reduced practice time by many players be too much of a factor? Stay tuned as I ponder on this further.

I’m actually nervous. More so than usual. I have to keep telling myself that every team has had to deal with this so hopefully we aren’t worse off than any other team.

Tennessee clearly has the upper-hand in offensive line and running backs, JG doesn't have to do too much imho to win this game. Keep the chains moving, run the damn ball down their throat, ball control!

28-13 Vols

Over 200 yds rushing for the good guys. Some decent play action passing. But sloppy play in the first game will limit the scoring. Don't see USCjr being able to pass it well outside. I think our weakness early in the season is in the middle of the D.

24-20 vols. I’m sure by Saturday morning my prediction will be somewhere around 50-0 though. ITS GAME WEEK. BEST IVE FELT ON A MONDAY IN A WHILE.
I think defense steps up and dline is better than expected. Flowers with 1 INT and Kivon Bennet with 2 sacks for the game. Oline is great in the run game and we lean heavy on Gray and Chandler to control the clock. JG doesn’t flash but he doesn’t make any crucial mistakes. Gbo

Going back to last year we won 6 in a row with me not watching the game live. This has me torn as I would really like to watch our first game as it happens but I'm superstitious and won't jinx us until the streak is broken.
So it's up to you morans to pull us through..
You know what you gotta do!!

I feel the same way..I think the program is in infinitely better shape overall, but there are still so many question marks that I don't have a clue how this is going to play out.

I hope we knock em dead.

There are loopholes around that, just pause the game and watch it 10 minutes behind or so, it’s not technically “live” if you do that.. 🤷🏻‍♂️
