Recruiting Forum: Official UGA Pre-Game/Game Thread

Lsu is losing right now to Troy. Kentucky might lose to eastern michigan. I think all the schedule sucks except Bama. We get any kind of qb play and winning 8 is easily obtainable

I agree that the SEC except Bama and possibly GA were for the taking this year. If we had some kind of offense it should have been easy to go at least 9-3.

We're all fans here. No need to stoop to the "nuclear" rhetoric. :)

That statement actually cracked me up because I've seen Asian people make wonky translations with dated language like that so many times because so many of their words don't translate exactly into modern English.

Bruin right now with all these people arguing with him:

Still got to let it play out. How does bringing in an interim now help at all?

The only way it helps is if you have a coach that is not under contract that an start immediately, similar to OSU and Meyer. You can let the assistants handle the team while the new coach starts recruiting. If you hire a sitting head coach, there's no reason to not wait at least until the season is almost over, when it becomes obvious that he's done.

Also, the early signing period affects the timing of this now.

I think we can win any game without CBJ as easily as we can win it with him. Sometimes, when change is inevitable, it's cathartic to go ahead and make it.

JG hasn't been practicing much with the 1s. Start there and see if he can build some confidence and find a rhythm with the receivers.

I agree with this.

Yes we could lose all of them. We could also win all of the but one. That's my point about letting this thing play out

I didn't say fire him tonight, I just said it was inevitable. No way he survives. He'll be luck to get to six wins imo. Also, it depends on the locker room, if it is toxic s has been rumored, that changes things.

Well that kind of narrows things down.

Sark fired from USC mid season.

Joe Paterno fired midseason.

Randy Edsall fired midseason from Maryland 2015.

All of those teams got better coaches than they had at the point they made a change.

I agree that midseason firings aren't ideal and November is usually the best time to do it, but coming off a historically bad loss with locker room strife and a bye week to sort things out just seems like good timing in our case.

It's 100% obvious Butch won't be here in 2018 at this point. No use *****footing around it.

And those examples resulted in the betterment of the programs that they couldn't have achieved by waiting until the end of the season??

lol

Hell no it didn't

And you really make my point for me. You don't fire a coach unless there is a scandal which those 3 had

Refresh me what scandal Spurrier was in the middle of again? I don’t remember

Just like with Dooley, half the team will tune the coach out because he's a dead man walking and the other half will play tight because they know every move they make could get their coach fired. It's not a good thing to do to a team. Fire him, stop the circus, and try to get as many wins as possible.

lol
Give me real news like I asked then.

Give me examples of a coach being fired before the half way mark of a season and it benefited the school...

Waiting

Also:

Charlie Weiss at Kansas on October 2nd

Al Golden at Miami after 7 games

Bowden at Clemson at the halfway point of the season

Do you ever take 5 minutes to do a google search and check your s***ty arguments before you make them?

Coaching changes midseason aren't ideal but it's not like they've never worked out.

Butch' buyout is $9 million plus. Who starts the go fund me account and how long to fund it? The wealthy boosters are not likely to do it for us.
