the example of inconsistency shows you that at the end of the day it's up to the player to use the message or not. If you want to sit there and blame coaches for this, then I cannot agree with you. Simple. it's your job to be a man, not pruitts job to convince you to be one at this level.

So why do coaches bring in ex players for motivation? Why do they have a pep talk? Why are some of the most famous speeches are pep talks? If it's 100% all on the players there's no need for that stuff. Motivation is absolutely part of the coaches job. To not think so is neive.

It 100% is. A coach who’s team plays hard for him all the time is a big compliment.
