Haven't posted in a long time, and really only add something when I hear something these days. You can check my stats on Butcher having to quit football and Riyahd Jones going to MTSU, really the only time I've ever got info. My dad's a low level booster and hears stuff from time to time. He was in Jimmy Cheek's box for the GA game (honestly not sure if it was Cheek's box or he just happened to be there, and really don't care, also have no idea who else was there), but his understanding after leaving the box and having a lot of cocktails was that Butch was gone, in the minds of the people who mattered by halftime of GA.
I say this to assuage the fears of those that fear we might keep Butch and assure you that the only way Butch is here after this season is if he has naked pictures of Currie. And honestly then I still think he'd be fired because Currie is a stone cold killer that give no f***s.

I trust my dad with my life because that's how I was raised and he absolutely loves Currie and while he wants Butch gone yesterday, believes that if he's still here Currie has a plan/reason to have him here. Take it, leave it, throw it in the toilet. Figured more info is better than less.

This is all about Frost for UF. They aren’t even thinking of Chip Kelly or Lane Kiffin.

Frost has great connections in the State already and their boosters have their money on him.

Mac gift wrapped this deal by lying

Mullen will be a very solid hire for UT.

IMO UT isn’t going to hire a “big splash”. Mullen, Brohm or Cutcliffe is who we end up with.

One more note. Jimmy Cheek absolutely was the problem that this board made him out to be. I don't believe Davenport is though. I really think she understands what a winning athletic program can do for a school. This is pure speculation but I've sat near her at a few sporting events with my dad and everything I heard sounded positive.

Frost will destroy Meh Mullen if this happens...of course that is just my opinion.

I'm starting to really respect Currie and how he's handling this. He clearly gives zero F's about perceived pressure from fans, media, etc. He has a plan and is sticking to it. Not an easy job, I wouldn't want it.

Yea I know, he won’t take the job. But yes “dude” if Cutcliffe wanted the job he would certainly be a choice if UT gets turned down by top to in their list.

Cutcliffe is one of the best coaches in the business, paired with some great recruiters would do very well.

We either have an excellent AD who has a plan and is executing it well or he may be more incompetent than the last two. We will know when they announce the new coach.

Yeah, I'm fuming at him, but none of it will matter if he nails the hire.

It's already been posted on here, I believe correctly, that if Butch stays on going into November the odds are a deal has been reached with his successor. Doesn't matter if it is with Gruden or a sitting HC, there are contractual reasons it cannot be announced yet. The question is all about allowing the season to completely tank or not IMO. It tanks with Butch. Everybody including the players know he's done even if it's not official. So, unless Currie has struck a deal with him to let him continue for relief on the buy out or another job somewhere, there are no good reasons to keep him.

I agree with you 100 percent. If we nail the hire then this was all necessary. Time could prove us both wrong though.

If we come out of this with a great hire I will take back my complaints on Currie. He sure is befuddling with how he’s handling this though. Seems some public statements would be useful.
