They are saying he made up a fake death threat. Death threats are serious. I’m sure he has he a treat made to him at some point.

Bad look for Florida. Fans may think they are getting out in front and prioritize winning but I guarantee coaches view this different. Guy like Chip Kelly would never go there now. He has operated in the grey before. An employer searching for reasons to fire with cause isn’t something he’d be interested in.

Agree

Currie can say, “Listen, I stuck with Butch till the last possible moment, and he wasn’t even my guy, imagine how I’ll stand behind you. Florida fired a back to back reigning division champion who was receiving death threats because they sensed a little blood in the water, and then tried to take his buyout. Which one seems like the better career move for you?”

There is not a thinking person alive who thinks they're actually firing him over "made up threats." So there's probably a lot of people in Florida who think that. Didn't Alabama's kicker get death threats after they lost to Clemson? Was there some big investigation into whether this was true, administrators deposing coaches like it was an episode of Law & Order?

They're weaseling him out of money he is rightfully owed, and it's messed up.

That makes it ok.

When did I say that? You act like the administration wanted him as a top option lol. He was brought in to rebuild and he did, the problem was we kept him too long. Sorry your terrible example didn't work.

90% of the fanbase would complain now if we hired anybody but Frost or Gruden😂

If everyone slamming the AD could at least spell his name correctly as they call for his job with obviously no understanding of how an athletic department works... that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

It’s a very bad move for Florida.

Now I feel like they have told him they are firing him with cause and telling everyone else they are working on a buyout after mutually parting ways. Why would JM agree to that? Once he steps down he has no power. Florida has told him he’s fired with cause but they are willing to negotiate on a smaller buyout. Applying pressure to him.

JMO.

Played hard. Won turnover battle. Protected the ball.

They just can’t play.

It's not a good football team for sure.

But I thought the play calling for our last couple of drives leaned more conservative than it had all night. Which is obviously common with a lead in the 4th quarter.

Losing Bituli and Gaulden really took the bite out of the defense too.

How do you like Mount Pleasant? Personal reasons - my daughter and son-in-law are thinking about moving there if he gets the job wants.

I like it, great schools, nice proximity tonDT and islands, good restaurants and lots to do with nice parks etc.

Only downsides is it's jammed packed with people during may-sept and property has gotten absurdly expensive.

I want Butch gone but you’re right Ziti, they suck. Gaulden, Kelly, Chandler, and Smith are the only ball players on the team. Shamburger may be pretty good 2

We’ve got a few players but we suck at the line on both sides and aren’t well coached.

Offense doesn’t know what it’s doing at all.

You have been saying for weeks this team has quit.

Surely you are willing to eat crow and say that team fought their ass off last night?

Didn’t know about this rule. Obviously if a university still wanted to hire Kelly they could but it would require an extra step of consulting the SEC commissioner.

I apologize. I don’t do e fights and I broke my rule. Carry on :hi:

I agree with Ziti, it is a bad move by UF. Many prospects for the job will be reluctant now.

FWIW, the current ESPN report says a source reports it is mutually agreed and that the buy out has been agreed upon subject to finalizing. Based on Mac's press release ESPN is undoubtedly correct since he spoke glowingly of UF, the players, and their fan base.

Looks like Currie is playing hardball with Butch. On one end he hopes Butch salvages the season with 3 more wins then he let's him go as planned with an agreed upon buyout. On the other Butch has to be looking at if it tanks too much he will want out and will take anything to do it because he runs the risk of probably never being a major college coach again and unhirable.
