Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Alabama Pre-Game Thread

Couldn't watct tonight fellas. Got all kinds of updates about Dobbs balling though.

Anybody wanna give me a rundown of how we looked in all three phases?

1st Quarter the Defense didn't play up to the standard that we've expected all season. Then we found out that they played more zone to try and contain Cooper. Similar to what Arkansas and Ole Miss did, but it didn't work. We got owned.

I think we outscored Bama the remainder of the game.

Yep. 20-7

Lots of variables. When teams jump out to a giant lead, the other team usually outscores them the rest of the game.

Was still nice to see fight, throws to the middle, and most importantly qb keepers. We'll win some with offensive play and play calling like we had tonight.

Coaches should have pulled coleman long ago, was refreshing to see some slowing down of dl on that side. Jake sent a lot of help that way finally too.

Were you watching early in the game when you were on here cussing and complaining?

By "couldn't" did you mean "I quit watching because I am a pansy"?

That's a very underrated stat right there.

Very overrated IMO. You see every week teams getting up by 25+ then playing safe while the other team outscores them while never actually getting close enough to win.

Look at arky UGA last week. No one is saying "arky won the 2nd half." I'm thrilled with the fight and progress, but I don't out a lot of stock in winning the 2nd half after losing the game early.

Atmosphere was incredible. Rocking tonight even when it looked like a huge blowout. Third Down for What is more impressive in person. Sat a couple of rows behind Dobbs parents, neat to watch their reactions. Despite the loss, fantastic first time in Neyland. Will have to do it again next year. Looking forward to a win in Columbia next week.

Lol yeah how dare I say a cuss word (much less one like ass) when my team is getting blown out 27-0..how will I ever be forgiven?

And actually I was in Nashville all night with my girlfriend at the preds game..so no, I didn't "quit watching because I am a pansy"

I was trying to keep up with it through my phone but by the time it was 27-0 I stopped.

Anything else you'd like to know about my night?

We all were in meltdown when it was snowballing

There were about five people in my row that bailed on the game before we scored. Two of them left before the end of the first quarter. I was pissed that I had to leave midway through the fourth. I just could take the pain anymore. I've still got a wound in my abdomen the size of an orange. But I left happy. Not with the loss, but the future looks brighter than it has in a month or so.

Another thing to be proud of;

The Bama Fans chanted KIFFIN, the VOLS fans sang Rocky Top.. Seems like the media try to push the controversy, and it didn't work...

Part of me is glad nothing happened and they couldn't make anything of this story like they clearly were trying to do, but I gotta admit, there was a part of me that really wanted someone to put a well-aimed, full sprite bottle in the middle of that visor from about sixty rows up. I would have enjoyed seeing that.

Without a doubt the media have tried to stir this up all week long. It's sickening and scary how much they actually influence our views of everything (insert your favorite conspiracy theory here).

The media overlooks the fact that we are glad he's gone and that we would be in trouble with NCAA right now, not to mention that he is a poor head coach everywhere he has been.

His departure was very cowardly and self-serving, much like Franklin's. While it did open the door for Dooley, which really set us back, we're much better off that he's gone.

I didn't want a fan to do anything but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't rooting for AJ to follow a play towards the sidelines with a whole lot of momentum and just "accidentally" follow right through him and send his visor flying.

As long as no one got hurt, that wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world..... :whistling:

Would have been hilarious if he broke a hip and needed a chair like Dooley did.

I would also like to add that the Pride of the Southland was fantastic from parade before game to pregame and halftime.

Random, but last night was the first time I'd had trouble with Bama fans in the 12 TN/Bama games I've been to (10 at UT, 2 in Tuscaloosa).

Had several get mouthy on the way out of the stadium. One decided it was cool to blow his cheap azz cigar smoke in my wife's face while yelling "HEY VOLS"...which resulted in the Dutch Masters(!) being knocked out of his mouth before UTPD stepped in to walk him to a corner for 'counseling' and to tell me to walk to my vehicle.

I almost feel bad for their alums and longtime fans. There's a certain respect with most of them (and most talked about how they're not liking they way UT is progressing). The sidewalk trash that has jumped on Bama is pretty awful.

Maybe if we beat them a time or two they'll go back under their rock.
