I highly recommend the Tennessee Gameday app. It has interactive maps with GPS and landmarks, live audio stream and many other fan-friendly info. Here is the info for the Vol Walk.

I think we hang 40+ on the Red Wolves this weekend. I think Josh Smith will progress and have another nice outing. Also, I think you'll gradually start to see TK inserted a little quicker on defense in this game. Try and get him up to speed for Oklahoma.

TK is a baller. Just a matter of time before he's named starter. Wouldn't surprise me if it was this week.

At least one of the sacks in the last game came right past the center. I saw him get pushed on straight back onto his ass in two other separate plays. I'm worried about the whole line! I'm hoping it was just some rookie rust, and I did see a lot of good line play too. I've watched the game three times, once live in Neyland and twice on my DVR, and I'm unsure about the OL. I can tell they're capable of playing well, but will they play to their capabilities consistently? We false started twice in a row! That kind of bone-headed stuff is avoidable.

Actually the Center position was very solid. I too have watched the game multiple times. There was one play where the Center was tripped up on a pass protection when bulled rushed that resulted in a bad play. I failed to the the "two other separate plays". As read in other posts on Volnation - "our center had the flu" and "the other team was jumping and calling out our 'Go' cadance which was illegal and encrouchment and the refs got it stopped at the Halftime. So overal the Oline gets a 'B' rating for their first time out. I would expect significant improvement on week 2. Relax and enjoy the WIN.

Pure conjecture on my part, but the offensive game plan surprised me this last week. I thought we would establish the run to set up the pass, but it was apparent from the start that they are establishing (honestly) a better pass game than expected with Worley to set up the run. I think Utah St. thought the same and set their D up to neutralize our run game. I am anxious to see this week what improvements we make in our run game.

Also, I expect to see more Hurd this week. I think Butch and Coach Jake are using these two games to get reps in for the freshman. Starting next week I think we see a healthier dose of Marlin Lane. I think Hurd will be fine, he just needs the patience of Lane. We all saw on his TD reception the things that we are all excited about. I think the D come out and smashes Arky St. Regardless, as Nicj said, we'll truly have a better idea about our D after this game. My hope is they continue to play contain with discipline like they did this week.

Prediction: VOLS 48-10

This is the week to tweek those kind of changes. I would also start Michael Williams over Coleman (not to be that guy, but....).

:bash:

It doesn't surprise me about their DL trying to simulate the snap. It was clear on Kerbyson's second straight false start that two DL flinched and acted like they were coming. Kerbyson was seen talking to the official.

We will beat Ark St by about the same amount of points, but I think we score more.

48-17 Vols!

Btw, I am very surprised Kiffin ok'd Sims to start.

Wait. What? Utah State has a good defense?
Nah.

They are not bad on defense. They play a 3-4 which is more complicated to block than a 4-3 (unless it's Tennessee's 2012 defense). They tackled well, and nothing was easy for our offense.

I wanna see a 50 spot hung on em. We could've this week if we had a couple of plays go a different way in the first half.

52-17. VOLS.

Worley 300+ 4 TDs
Hurd 100+ 1 td

Per Rivals; stAte had around 20 3* recruits combined for 2011 and 2012 classes. Since then they added 4. Zero 4* and 5* for all 4 years. UT has nearly that many (23) 4 and 5* players in the last two classes alone. I know *'s mean very little in some cases, but in this case they should tell everybody in the fan base something.

Beat down coming for the Red Wolves.

I was extremely impressed with him last weekend. I know his drops last year were mental, and I knew he'd get over that. However, he really showed out and played well, I was really happy for him.

Ethan Wolf is the real deal too! I was really impressed with his willingness to fight for every yard. It seemed like every time he was tackled he still got a little more.
