Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Chatanooga Pre-Game Thread

I understand your point but it's in my opinion they are under performing even given their youth and lack of talent. Most of the time you should see some progression over the course of the season and we're seeing none. If this was another SEC team we were playing today I would give them the benefit of the doubt but this is a division II school.

Not Division 2. Lol.

It certainly plays a factor.

Are they not supposed to develop these guys, AV? What the hell is their job then?

Time. It won't happen in 3 weeks. It will take offseason and getting stronger. I would hope to improve at the end of the year, but Thomas just started the OU game. People hate to hear it, but we need time.

I don't think you understand what I am saying. Look at last year and look at this year. Same coaches. Same scheme. Better OL players. Then 5 yards/carry. Now 3 yards/carry. 19 sacks so far this year. Only thing that has changed is the players. Look at this set of coaches previous jobs and how well they ran the ball there. Every single piece of evidence points at a lack of talent and experience on the OL.

This is fair, but I don't think the coaches deserve a pass for the lack of run game. Many of Neal's big games came against the easier teams too. No doubt they were more effective last year, but there's no excuse for a run game this bad.

Up 24-3 at half?

That's a fair point as well. We are looking at the same thing two different ways.

You say our coaches should have been able to coach them up to be better than this against UTC.

I say an SEC OL shouldn't need to be coached up to be able to handle UTC DL.

Two sides of the same coin. The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle.
