Recruiting Forum: UNofficial Florida Pre-Game Thread

best to keep your mouth shut and at least camouflage your ignorance.....

The OC is the guy in charge of the offense and for breaking down film and developing a plan of attack....of course it's under the HC's authority....but the HC DOESN'T do the OC's job nor micromanage operations....

Please get a grip on reality....this is 2 of the last 4 SEC games where this OC has proven his incompetence...and the game plan for this game was AS BAD OR WORSE on the negative scale as the plan for attacking UGA was good on the positive scale.....It's just inexcusable.......teams do reflect their leadership....PERIOD.....and this team is reflecting it's offensive leadership!

Yeah but I guess the head coach never sits in on those game plans. Try again next time

No--we're not.....just go back and look at Chaney's games against Fla, Bama--and did you completely forget that CHANEY was the OC when we lost with bray at Qb against KY????????????

Yeah, that was nobody on the team trying because they didn't care if they went to a lower bowl game. That was 100% on Dooley.

Chaney threw the ball all over the field when he was here. Now his offense is running all over everyone at Arkansas. He can design a scheme around his personnel. That's what good OCs do. That's not what we have. Worley running a zone read is the epitome of forcing a square peg in a round hole.

No--that's game, set, and match and you're exposed for just what you are....

we're all upset and unreasonable right now.....

However, I haven't been this disappointed and upset with an offensive game plan since the 1990 bama game in Knoxville.....and yes, I'm still ticked off about that 1990 game!!!!!!!!

just please give it a rest and quit attempting to blame Dooley for Chaney's incompetence......

And last I checked....Arkansas' offense is the same offense ran by Bielema at Wisconsin.....nice try, though.........

lol ok. I started all this by saying I wasn't a Chaney fan. He's better than what we've got now though.

I see no way to justify this loss. We were up 9-0 late in the third, on their side of the field, and we fumble the ball passing when we should've been pounding the rock. Floridas defense was getting tired, we were starting to get more of a push up front. Lane had just converted a 3rd down on the ground and we ripped off another good run play or two with Hurd. I just don't know why you decide to run a double move, long developing pass play with such a bad pass protecting oline. A field goal at that point would've pretty much put the game out of reach at 12-0. Floridas offense really never had a good rhythm, even with the back up.

The play calling this game was just mind blowing. Reeves-Maybin picked off their first throw of the second half putting us on like the 15 yard line. Why not pound the rock, burn some clock, either score a touchdown or get another field goal. Instead we run a cutesy play action pass that gets picked off. Terrible.

Bottom line is everyone and their brother knows you have to run the ball to win the FL/TN game. In my opinion, you should run first to set up the pass, but we do it backwards. obviously our OLine is young but with a 9-0 lead why did we not pound the rock some when we had the opportunities?

I'm not sure why "this loss can't be justified" is an appropriate reaction to this thread. No one saying the loss is "okay". But the team is obviously playing much more competitively this year and, with more talent and experience coming in, things are obviously looking much brighter in the future. The outcome of this game doesn't change that one bit.

So you're happy with "improvement?" Is that all UT fans want now-a-days? I want wins, and we should have won the game today. Period.

You bet your ass I am. Yeah, we should have won today, but don't be like some of the idiots on here, so shortsighted as to think the entire future of the program rides on whether a very tight game ends up being a win or a loss. I can see the bigger picture here - this kind of inexperience/talent deficiency is going to be a thing of the past after 2014, and once it is, games like UGA and UF will be wins instead of losses. Based on the talent/experience issues, we're easily playing better football than we should be. So if we're already doing that, what's it going to look like when the talent and experience are both in place? THAT is the big picture right there, and that is a much bigger indicator of Jones' impact on the program than anything else.

Sorry, but this loss deserves a meltdown.

And I'm usually pretty level-headed after losses, but this is inexcusable and 100% on coaching.

There is zero excuse to not walk away with 7 points after at least one of those turnovers.
Agreed, but I'm honestly not that surprised with UF having a bye week to prepare and our OL still struggling like it is. We whiffed on OL recruiting the past few years and we are reaping the consequences for it.

The ONLY thing we can do about it at this stage is recruit to flip our weakness (OL and DT) into a strength. To win consistently in the SEC, you have to recruit well enough in all areas that you don't have such glaring weaknesses like this.

I am super pissed and unhappy as ive been over a Loss in a while. I think thats good, that I am pissed again b/c I expect to win again. The goal this year was to change the culture and make a bowl game. Check one. The second one is a toss up b/c we had THE WORST HC IN MODERN FOOTBALL that didnt take ONE OLmen in the 12 class and he sucked all around besides that. Most every non homer practice observer/media rep said 5-7 or 6-6 and thats what we look like. Could have won these last two games and im angry we are not there yet but realistically we are doing better and have a shot at a bowl. Lets not drop the hammer on Jake just yet. Worley is improved, but not this staffs protoype. The zone is severely hampered when there is no threat to pull from the QB. Just wait til this next class comes in and we will have over half the team that are recruits of this staff. Then lets see how we look. It sucks to wait but the light is so bright directly ahead I have faith for the first time in a while.

Losing two games to SEC East opponents by a combined 4 points,,,,,really really really sucks. Oline has to find a set of something or Worley will not finish the season. I'm afraid that the hits are already taking a toll. Worley was not his usual today - neither was Hurd. No rhythm at all. I'm still proud of our young men and still confident we can get AJ to a bowl game. 6-6 was our goal at the start of the season and it is still very doable.

U guys are idiots. We have 20 something 18 year olds competing in the sec with fully matured teams. Our team is very young. They will be very very good in a few years. At least we are competing and not getting blown out it sucks losing but dam, we ain't getting killed and we have chances to win. Get over it offer some pads and go play

Don't talk common sense here...Some of these idiots will lose their minds...We are going to be fine and when we are back to being Tennessee again these whiners can go take a flying leap off a bridge.

I think for me the disturbing part is watching them use quick routes and 3 step drops the first quarter of the Ga. game and how well it worked with our OL. Then the rest of the game until JW came back from his injury he runs on 1st and 2nd leaving third and long and we get a sack and punt. We know what we have as an OL right now so we need to play a style that won't expose them (like the first quarter), to hell with trying to maintain a 50/50 balance, throw early to run later and keep the routes short and quick. You can always have one of the WR's run a double move and if QB has time hit it. Lastly PLEASE STOP THE READ OPTION, JUST STOP IT!

I'm all for keeping things in perspective and this loss doesn't invalidate (is that a word?) all the progress under CBJ. However, one got away today and that should never be taken lightly.
