And you would do what? Tell Worley "Whatever you do, don't throw a pick to your best receiver in a one on one matchup", or "keep an eye on the corner blitz to your strong side that you should see". SMH, I love you guys, but you need to understand we have been behind the 8 ball. No 2012 OL? Gen. Neyland couldn't gameplan this bunch. Get the pieces in the puzzle before criticizing
All that stuff sounds "cutesy" when you're trying to be sarcastic--but in reality--YOU NEVER underthrow the ball over the middle LATE--NEVER, NEVER, NEVER...And, as an OC you need to put us in a better play on 1st down than that one...misdirection or a reverse would have been great....but...
WE ARE UT!!! BUTCH needs to go back and watch some dern film and learn EXACTLY what that means! Our tradition, which he so dearly loves, was built not on a quirky, gimmicky hurry-up offense that attempts to dance people to death, but on a hard-nosed running game with counter gaps, power running with pulling guards and FBs leading a fire-breathing tailback up through the holes.....mixed in with some deadly play-action passes and timely misdirections and bootlegs....That fundamental formula STILL WINS football games....
Also--YESSSSS--you do EDUCATE your Sr. QB to recognize strong-side Corner blitzes and audible out of the play...That's the kind of stuff that QBs learn in HIGH SCHOOL now days...but, our OC hasn't taught Worley how to do it and OK, UGA, and now FLA have made it work against us.....And no sign of adjusting or countering this defensive "punch" by us to this date....
These are the kinds of things that lose close ballgames....and it is getting old to tell everone to be patient because we're being "built from the ashes..."
I expected this team to lose to OK, lose to UGA, lose to Bama, and possibly lose to USCe....but NEVER EXPECTED to lose to this Fla Gator team that's their worst team to take the field in Neyland in 30 years.....:salute:
