I remember folks destroying Fulmer for playing for points just before the half against Notre Dame. Eric Ainge got hurt with less than a minute to play in the half and missed several games that season.

Trying to drive the field in a minute against a solid defensive front has a low percentage of success and a much greater chance of disaster. I'm fine with taking it into the half and come out with a full clock and a chance to regroup.
