With Dobbs at QB, Josh Smith back, a healthier Lane and VP, I see our offense putting up 32-38 points. I think our defense is good enough to hold them to under 24. Gonna be a win for the good guys and the start to a 4-0 finish!

I'll allow it

What was that play Mizzou converted at the end of regulation in 2012? 4th and 25 or something and Franklin hit DGB in the end zone for the game tying TD.

I remember just staring at the TV with my mouth open in shock after that happened.

Our defense is starting to get good pressure on the QB. Simms' mobility skewed the stats or we would have had several sacks against Bama.

I think we pressure Thompson - force a couple mistakes - run the ball well - finally hit a couple deep balls - we win by 7-10 points

The USCe / Auburn game gives me pause but one thing we've learned this year about the SEC is you can't really count on what happened last week to happen again this week...

Wait did I just talk myself out of believing we will win????

I hate that game.

We laughed them out of the building the first half

Do we know if Josh Smith is going to come back this weekend? I haven't seen much info on his injury.

I think we match up well with SC.

On defense, need to play mistake-free in the secondary. Thompson is good... don't sleep on him. He'll put some drives together. Just need to do as well as we can. The good news is he's not going to burn us on those third down scampers like Blake Sims did. Barnett, Maggitt and Vereen need to bring it, because we can get him on the ground or force dumb passes if we get in the backfield. Be aware of Mike Davis at all times. He's a dangerous weapon and has become underrated because of SC's struggles this year. He's a problem both as a runner and a pass-catcher.

On defense, though, they're weak. They don't get many sacks, don't force many turnovers, they struggle against both the run and the pass, and they give up a lot of big plays. This game can be a major confidence-booster for the offense if they don't get careless with the ball - we can march on this team. If Dobbs doesn't crash back to earth, he can cut this team up. Hurd and this receiving core should be salivating right now.

Hard score to predict. SC is capable of hanging 30 on pretty much anybody, and Spurrier is always a wild card. But if the offensive progress against Alabama was real, then I don't think they can stop us.

Going to call 34-27 Vols.

Talked to a USC fan today. He said they had 5 or 6 non-qualifiers last year... All on the DL. Apparently, they have linebackers playing DL now

Man your memory of these past games is impressive. Talking about the officiating in the Vanderbilt game last year. Must really suck for you.

Aside from needing this win to go to a bowl game, this is a must win for the program in general. This is where we find out if the team is really improving. We have seen this team come close to winning so many times, but this time we need to pull out all the stops. If there are plays that we haven't pulled out yet, they need to call them. Vols 38 Cocos 17

There is "good" SC and "bad" SC. We do have a good defense and Dobbs seems to add a huge previously missing piece to our offense. I have high hope, but I know this is not a team to be taken lightly. They gave Auburn fits and they beat Georgia with Gurley.

USCe uses a lot of 4 WR sets. They also have a pretty decent TE. We all know about Davis and Wilds.

Nick Jones
Damiere Byrd
Pharaoh Cooper
Shaq Roland

^^ Those are all guys who are 6'0 or shorter that can stretch the field with their speed. Especially the first 3.

Their secondary is weak. I believe they are 13th in the SEC in defense. The middle of the field gets exposed in their defense. Auburn ran at will on them. Marquez North vs. Al Harris Jr is a matchup that Dobbs needs to take advantage of.

Their front 4 is pretty decent. JT Surratt is a run stuffing DT. He'll give Crowder fits. Skai Moore is a playmaker at LB. Need to identify where he is every snap. Lorenzo Ward has started letting Moore freelance a little more.

I want to see Pearson, North, Malone, and Croom run posts for days on these fools. Middle of the field is WIDE OPEN.

There was a picture in the paper the next day of the crowd and there's like 50 guys all with that same expression. It was unbelievable. I was so shocked I couldn't even yell in protest.

To get back on topic. I think we might really have a chance to put up some points, like against UGA. Hopefully our D can force a turnover or two and set up the offense in good field position.

OL is solid too for them.

If we don't abuse them in the middle, I'll be convinced jake doesn't even watch film. Every team has picked them apart with throws to the middle. Scheme for Moore when running. Anyone, even our horrible offense, can put points up against them. If our D doesn't lay a 1st half Bama sized egg, we have a good shot at winning.

A one point win in Columbia would be fine with me. Important thing is a win otherwise, have to run the table to get bowl eligible.

Haha, it's all burned into my memory, man. So much trauma as a Vols fan these past few years.
