I don’t think you understood what I said. The ball came out of his hands when it hit the ground. You can clearly see it on the replay.

It can come loose as long as you have hands around it. The catch by Vandy they reviewed did the exact same thing.

I am worried about this defense going forward. I’m not sure if it’s due to lack of talent or scheme. But it isn’t looking good and seems to be getting worse

There is an undeniable talent issue, particularly at safety and linebacker. It's just as undeniable, though, that there has to be a scheme issue of some kind when you're as bad as we have been on third and fourth down. Tim Banks will need to recalibrate his approach to later downs.

He had possession of it when he popped up. He didn’t trap it with his chest. Just a bad overturn.
