What about Alshon Jeffrey? I thought we were up there for him until Kiffin told him if he went to South Carolina he would never make it.

Hightower would of been a perfect fit in Knoxville; do you know how many times he's been arrested? Answer: a bunch

Anyone remember how much potential the 2005 class had? IIRC all the players had UT in the top 2 or 3 and were all high on Tennessee.

Patrick Turner - 5 star, #2 overall in the nation. 3rd rounder
Jonathan Stewart - 5 star, #10 overall in the nation. 1st rounder
Kenny Phillips - 5 star, #11 overall in the nation. 1st rounder

Who we got instead:
Slick Shelly - 4 star, transferred. Not drafted
LaMarcus Coker - 4 star, kicked off team. Not drafted
Adam Myers-White - 4 star, graduate. Not drafted

Also worth mentioning;
Michael Oher - 4 star, top 50 player. Yall know the story. 1st rounder.
Eugene Hayes - 4 star, top 50 player - once committed to the Vols but signed with FSU on NSD. Drafted in the 6th round.
Ricky Jean-Francois - 4 star, top 50 player. Teammate of Kenny Phillips. Drafted in the 7th round.

Greg Miclisse. Last cycle; he played us at the 11th hour in favor of the Hoosiers. Biggest miss in my lifetime, but I'm only in my twenties.

Such a weird situation. We all knew he was lying about UT and wouldn't end up here but I don't think many of us had any idea that almost all of them were lies. I give him credit, he kept the charade up as long as he possibly could. Even bought himself a little extra time with the whole waiting on papers from Indiana. Not exactly sure why you lie about something like that, as it's not something you can maybe get away with.....
But my best guess is that he made up the offers for attention and listed a bunch of offers to make himself look like a better player than he was. And hoping that his "list" may attract a legit offer/s and committing to the actuall offer over a bunch of big time programs. But when said offer/s never came he was stuck at the alter with no bride on his wedding day. This is completely from my imagination and I have no idea if any of it is right. But it's what I came up with when trying to make sense of that situating. I could be 100% wrong so don't take this as fact or anything. I'm curious if anyone else knows anything about what ended up happening there.

Patrick Willis

He begged to come to TENNESSEE and he still holds a grudge to this day.:banghead2:, if you go back to the 60s the old ball coach wanted to come to TENNESSEE we would not take him because of the style of offence we were running that's why he takes a shot at TENNESSEE every chance he gets.
