"Tennessee will have to pay Dooley roughly $5 million to buyout the remainder of his contract. The payments are due in installments of roughly $102,040 per month through December 2016." (Tennessee fires Derek Dooley - GoVolsXtra Story)

This would be the absolute earliest it could happen.

Totally against golden parachutes, that sh!t needs to stop. :shakehead:

Never forget how incompetent he looked in the booth at Miss St

Undervalued post ^ Its funny, I know Dools was here for a few years but all I remember about him is the Presser, Rommel, Orange Pants, booth shot of his broken ass, slamming cane. I guess I wanted him to be successful so bad I overlooked him really.

:eek:lol:

We have some here that aren't over the coach Majors/Fulmer thing in 92. Heck...we still have a few that would punch coach Dickey over leaving us for fl in the early 70's.

Comparatively this wound is still bleeding.
Put me in the Dickey camp, I'm still raw the way he hosed us for his alma mater UF. He should have never been paid a dime by the UT athletic department after that episode. Granted he did a very good job as AD, despised him before he got that job, despised him while he had it, will continue despising him while he's worm food.

Speaks volumes....

My goodness, he was such an embarrassment to this program. Every time I see a pic of him I just :jpshakehead:.

I truly believe Dooley thought it was just going to be handed to him. Just the name Tennessee is going to put you in a decent spot in recruiting. In that 20-30 national rank...But to break into the top 10, that takes a lot of hard work, national recruiting and the actual love of what you are doing.

I Honestly hope CBJ is our coach for the next 20yr, because anyone who can't see that he loves where he is at, is not watching. He cares about this school, and this state.

There is no where in this country quite like Knoxvegas. And no where in this country like Neyland Stadium in the fall.

I have lived in many many places in this country. And I would not dream of calling anywhere else home. The minute I stepped in Knoxville for the first time, I knew that this is where I wanted to raise my family, and this is where I am going to die.

I think CBJ feels very similar and would like nothing more then to finish his career here.

Not sure about dooley but with the other coaches, any income made from coaching elsewhere is deducted from their buyout installments.

So we probably aren't paying sal, much, if any, courtesy of FSU and hopefully we aren't paying Chaney & Pittman much either. Ark got into a bidding war with bamer for Pittman, so he is probably a freebee.

Next time Tennessee needs to raise some funds, put kiffen and dooley in an mma arena and let them beat the $h!t out of each other...ambulance rules!!!

I would pay good money for that...and in a couple of years, so will the bamer alums!

From what I understand Dooley gets paid no matter what...but every other coach is how you say. I doubt any of them receive much at all from UT at this point.

It is Dooley who made a fool out of us from top to bottom.. from his contract all the way up to the job he did while here. Once again we can thank Hamilton for almost destroying UT athletics.

Congratulations-- you ignore the point of the post in order to be a smart a$$. But I congratulate you on trying to belittle my post. It makes you a big proud (and anonymous) man, I am sure.

Thank you:hi:

Dooley was terrible. Kiffin was on AJ and the rest of this "core" Dooley left us is probably good for about a six win season. I suppose we should send a thank you letter to Dooley. I agree we should focus on Butch and support this team but that does not involve carrying water for Dools.

Knew there were a few of yaw still around. That happened when I was a wee toddler so it didn't hit me as much. I'd probably be just like you if my dad would've gotten busy sooner.
