Never was there a better recipe for corruption. No wonder they leave as multimillionaires. It would be interesting to track the wealth growth of our millennial congresspeople (jihad squad) and compare it to that of their constituents. I am guessing it will be comparable to that of the CEOs that they so publicly vilify versus the average worker bee they so exploit.Good question, but they write the laws.
So, it's illegal to profit but it happens everyday and neither of us can remember the last time a politician was prosecuted for violating the law and we don't expect the current three to face prosecution, either. That about right?Nope, I can't either. Probably won't see any of those mentioned today investigated or prosecuted.
You're free to come to your conclusions. But calling for it does nothing for me. I can't remember the last time one was prosecuted for same. He knows full well he will likely be censured if he acted inappropriately. Big deal.Senator Burr has just requested that the Senate Ethics Committee open an investigation into his stock selling. Doesn't sound to me like he is trying to hide anything.

I'm not willing to rush to judgement about him selling. He isn't the only person in the world that sold stocks during that time period. Why did others sell? I'm talking about regular folks, not politicians. You're free to come to your conclusions. But calling for it does nothing for me. I can't remember the last time one was prosecuted for same. Politicians should be the only class of Americans who are guilty until proven innocent.
I rarely get this worked up, anymore. It's the most ridiculous thing for this to be stuck in my craw. It doesn't affect me one way or the other if they inside trade. That's about right. You're smart enough to know there are those who are above the law governing us peasants.
I probably would give benefit of the doubt to if there wasn't a pattern of behavior of politicians from both parties doing it.I'm not willing to rush to judgement about him selling. Most, if not all politicians, have their portfolios managed by professionals so they don't have to do the dirty work themselves. All that needs to happen is some aide calls some douche nozzle in the vast black hole of some investment company with a suggestion and bam, money is made. They will never be charged with insider knowledge.I'm not willing to rush to judgement about him selling. He isn't the only person in the world that sold stocks during that time period. He may or may not be guilty, but I'm not convicting someone based on what we know so far. In my mind, he is innocent until proven guilty. I mean what if he just decided it was time to get out. I came real close to doing the same thing at about the same time, due to the possibility of Bernie or one of the socialists getting elected. I wish I would have followed my gut feeling. Maybe he thought the same. Who knows?I probably would give benefit of the doubt to if there wasn't a pattern of behavior of politicians from both parties doing it.
Sure. But if you and 2 of your colleagues all decided the same course of action after a private meeting, that would be an incredible coincidence. He may or may not be guilty, but I'm not convicting someone based on what we know so far. I'll bet you'll find that his money is "managed" for him and he had no knowledge that any trades were happening. He may or may not be guilty, but I'm not convicting someone based on what we know so far.
