Redskins to announce name change

I really don't understand how this is confusing. The vast, vast majority of "boycott the NFL" people are Trump supporters (and specifically people like Justin and allvol who mention it 20x a day and try to talk up its impact). Look at any NFL thread in this forum

The neo-boycot-ers are added to the previous group of haters.

The NFL ain't going anywhere. It dominates and will continue to do so.

What got the Washington team to change nicknames was corporate partners bowing to the extremists.

Oh, no question, that's exactly what their cost/benefit analysis determined. If Nike won't sell/make your apparel (along with Walmart/Amazon/others) and FedEx pulls their name from your stadium, you're leaning hard into losses no matter who you end up finding as a sponsor.

The sad part is that the people bellyaching to sponsors/partners never consumed the Redskins/NFL product and wouldn't have actively altered their consumption of FedEx or Nike.

Nash, it's not confusing. They are sandbagging you.

I wish I had a dollar for the number of times people said "I'll never watch another NFL game again." They were, of course, conservatives screaming about Kaepernick and kneeling during the anthem.
I have friends who were PSL holders for their team throw in the towel. I think it is silly but it anecdotally supports your thoughts.

I imagine the PSL is MUCH easier to give up in Jacksonville than it is New England or Green Bay, though.

All true.

Here's what spurred that move I think. Profitability and business impact due to association with the Redskins.

FedEx, Nike and PepsiCo each received letters signed by 87 investment firms and shareholders worth a combined $620 billion asking the companies to sever ties with the team unless it changes its controversial name, Adweek reported Wednesday.
On Thursday night, Nike appeared to remove all Redskins gear from its online store. The other 31 NFL teams were listed and a search for "Redskins'' came up with no results. Nike did not immediately respond to an email message seeking comment.

FedEx's request of Redskins: Change team name

No, sorry but you couldn't be more wrong and you are wrong a lot.

Not only are you wrong buy I think you are slipping. Who are the conservatives in this country? So Republicans are moderates or liberals?

Here are some facts for you...
U.S. Still Leans Conservative, but Liberals Keep Recent Gains

Republicans Remain a Majority Conservative Party
The majority of Republicans has called themselves conservative each year, with most of the rest identifying as moderate. No more than 8% have called themselves liberal on average in any year since 1994.

The percentage of Republicans calling themselves conservative has increased, rising 15 points since 1994. This occurred in two phases:
  • After averaging 61% from 1994 to 2002, the percentage of Republicans identifying as conservative jumped to 66% in 2003 and stayed near that level through 2007.
  • In 2008, a presidential election year that culminated in the race between Obama and John McCain, the percentage of Republicans identifying as conservative rose to 70% and has since ranged from 68% to 73%.
The 73% of Republicans identifying as conservative in 2018 matches the high point in the trend, previously recorded in 2012.

Are Democrats communist?

Luckily, the Titans have allowed us to simply decline our Club seats for this year and I will not be penalized or lose my PSL investment. I will have to purchase my seats next year or lose the PSL though.

I like the atmosphere of the college game. Sitting in the stands is a fun experience.

Don't feel that way with pro. Watching the game at home on tv is so much better.

Bingo. A college game “feels” like a football game. Going to a few games at Jerry World a pro game is more of a spectacle. And you can see more of the game and drink beer more efficiently from your own couch.

I determined years ago when the PSL extortion was brought on (thanks Jerry!) that it’s more cost effective for me to pay StubHub prices for games I want to see and not worry about ticket packages. I go to NASCAR, NBA, and NFL games here in Dallas and haven’t owned a season ticket yet.

I use it as a client experience and it is written off to the maximum allowable. I pick two or three games to go myself and playoffs.

Yeah that makes sense if you have that option. For me it’s personal use and for the two or three events I care to brave the lunacy StubHub gets me what I need.
