Refs save Florida AGAIN

What is the title of the thread? There is a game thread where all that is discussed.

At this point it would be best to just accept the fact that the officiating was inconsistent in the last seconds two weeks in a row in your favor. You can walk away now or continue to be embarrassingly delusional.

The officiating was consistently bad for 60 minutes last week, from the no call PI against Cleveland on our first possession, to an obvious face mask on Toney that wasn't called. The refs were absolute garbage last week.

Tonight we're debating whether or not an obvious hold should have been called this week, because a questionable holding call wasn't made last week.

But I'm delusional. :eek:lol:

And yes it was the right call this week, just like it should have been last week.

If holding was the right call this week, then the refs didn't "save" us this week. The refs simply did their job this week.

I don't care to break down all the crappy calls from last week, but there were enough to go around for both teams.

Kentucky saved Florida. First and goal from the 5 and lose 20 yards. 10 men on the field leaving a guy uncovered with less than a minute to go. They had lots of chances to shut the door and didn’t do it. A tune we’re getting familiar with.

Don't think the same crew can call a game for the same team two weeks in a row.

Then asking for "consistency" is going to fall on deaf ears. It's a judgement call and not every ref is going to call it exactly the same; just like umpires have different strike zones and basketball refs have different judgements on charges/blocks.

You can complain all you want but until we get robot AI officials, it's going to be like that.

Another interpretation of the thread title is a discussion of how Florida gets favorable officiating at the end of games.

And there it is. I love how you weren't "saved" last week, it was just bad officiating for 60 minutes. This week, they simply did their jobs.

Yes, I think delusional is the right word.

Yes, the refs did their job this week...you even admitted as much.

As far as last week goes, I've already said my peace there.

The refs were terrible last week, your coaching staff called horrific plays from the 1 yard line, your kicker missed three FGs, your coaching staff refused to feature Kelly and run clock before our last drive, and your DB couldn't cover an ant with a beach blanket when it mattered most.

I'm willing to move on from last week if you are.

Dude, seriously, you need to be in politics. Your ability to frame a conversation in only your terms, and make it sound reasonable...it's breath taking. Kudos

Our DB couldn't cover an ant or our DE couldn't sack the QB while being held? We can play that game all day.

At a minimum you've agreed the refs made bad calls all day last week. You just have a hard time admitting you got the one at the end that decided the game.

I go back to my original point and the point of this entire thread you want to ignore. At the end of the game you make that call or not. The officials were inconsistent the last two weeks both times benefitting UF. Congrats. I wish it were UT. Why is it so hard to acknowledge?

I'm out, continue on with your spinning and mental gymnastics.

I don't think a hold should have been called on the last play last week. Many Vol fans here agreed. Given what either team had to do to get a holding call last week, it wasn't even close.

The refs were on point tonight, from our targeting call, to Powell's spot on 4th down, to the roughing the passer call on our DE, to the holding call on UK at the end.

Sleep tight...

I aspire to be this obtuse and be OK with it. Life would be so much easier. Cognitive dissonance, look it up. You have none.
