Regional Hosting Sites, NCAA Selection Thoughts and Projections

NC State should be tough. CWS team last year.

To be honest, a lot of the 2-seeds we’ve been projected to host are really good. It feels like there isn’t as big of a gap between the 2’s and some of the final hosts. I mean hell NC State has a freshmen that hit 29-home runs this year. Tommy Tanks is someone I definitely wouldn’t want to face.

Putting wake forest as our 2 seed in our region is the equivalent of having to face Wright State as a 4 seed. Wake can swing it and pitch it. If I recall they are top 20 in both team batting and pitching in the country. I also don’t like the fact they have faced really good pitching all year in the ACC. Georgia Southern has faced us and I get it but I’m willing to bet they saw the ball wayyyyy better after getting swept out of Knoxville. Meaning I think they are used to their conference pitching again and if we see them in the post season, they will be extremely overwhelmed again.

It does feel like if you can shut him down, don’t throw him anything really good to hit, they’re very bearable. I’d rather face them then Wake Forest for sure.

I’m not worried about any of the team’s D1 have us project to face on the way to Omaha. It would be a very favorable draw so I fully expect us to NOT get it

Well, after drawing Wright State last year, it’s hard to not think the committee will seek to screw us if at all possible.

At this point in the season a team has to beat the next opponent. If you don’t, you go home. Whining about who a team has to play makes no sense to me. The committee has no favorites.
No one owes another team anything. Win and advance. Loose and go home.

Very good question. Note that Dollie started the second game of the SECT because, IMHO, you can expect your second opponent to be better than your first, and you can win the first one with Blade. Dollie is our best starter right now. I think he'll be saved for the second start again, where we'll face the 2 seed. That would mean that Blade will start the first game. I'm guessing at it.

Arkansas baseball misses out on hosting NCAA Tournament regional for first time since 2017

Arkansas fans claimed all season that the regular season was not important, mainly because they weren't winning it. What was important was to be playing your best ball at tournament time. They need to get their team on the same page.

Assuming we don’t get a Wright St type team as our 4, I’m saving Dollander for game 2.

As the overall #1, we should get a Coppin St/Alabama St type as our #4. I guess you never know with the committee though.
