Reintegrating Tillman

Take what the defense gives you and exploit weaknesses. This offense has so many weapons; the focus should change from week to week.

We've got four good receivers who can all catch the ball. The coaches and Hooker will look for matchups they like and try
to exploit them. We are a hard team for opponents to cover. After Hyatt's TD catches against bama, opposing safeties will be quite focused
on not getting beat over the top, and thus there should be a lot of room in the middle of the field.

Get Tilman back in there. There were a couple of times where HH sailed the ball down field into open space but the WR just pulled up short and wasnt in the right place and the camera is on Hooker going WTF?

Bottom line, having multiple legit targets, not just one, makes Heupel's strategy of stretching the field work that much better. Nigh unstoppable. When both Hyatt and Tilman are headed downfield at the edges.

With Hyatt playing the way he is, I would need a seriously compelling reason to move away from that. Kid is on fire right now. Feel them all, but Hyatt would be my first choice at the moment.
They can get both on the field at the same time. A player does not lose his position because of an injury. We will need both when we play Georgia. T.his is not a problem unless you make it a problem

Keyton played well but will be the odd man out when Tillman returns. It's a good problem to have

4 stellar wideouts looks like a good problem to have. Hendon is going to get to pull Oprahs every game because you can’t cover them all.
You get a catch, and you get a catch, and you get a catch and you get one as well.

Interesting that no one talks about McCoy, but he made that last catch with 2 men on him. I do think this is the best receiving corp in the country.

I think McCoy will be all SEC next year. He is the Tenn version of all those ALA and LSU receivers of recent years. He was not the top rated player in high school for no reason!!!!
Fast, strong, and athletic. He is just tapping his potential.

You have to pass every play. That is not a good plan. Might work next Saturday, but not against Georgia.
Im not saying run 4 wide with a converter H-back every down, I'm saying situationally it would be a nightmare to line up against

To the point of "reintegration", I'd get him some reps over the next 2 weeks then let him go vs UK. No way do I risk him vs UT Martin. He returns only for SEC play if I were calling the shot.

But he's not super consistent with his routes. Had a couple vs Bama that should have been catches but for his route running.
I watched those plays multiple times. The one on the sideline was his mistake. The one in the endzone was on Hooker.

Let me put on my flame proof suit.

I think our offense has been better without Tillman.

Against Pitt we forced the ball to him at times and he had some unfortunate drops.

Not having a clear cut #1 WR (Hyatt and McCoy would be #1 on most teams still) has forced the coaches and Hooker to spread the ball around.

We are better with him, but we have to adjust from how we were using him.

Keyton has to continue to see the field some after Tillman comes back as well. He’s been great and has the best catch range on the team.

UT has an embarrassment of riches at receiver corps, and Coach Heupel will be making it rain.

I’m probably in the minority but, but I’d play Tillman for a quarter against UT Martin to knock off the rust and conditioning. Plus, he and HH need to get their timing down as Hooker places the ball in a spot before the WR has made his final break of the route.

That's my thinking. Get him 15-20 snaps against UTM, 40-50 snaps against UK, then all the snaps he can take against UGA.

A team can psychologically rely too much on one player, but that doesn't mean they are better without him. I believe that the '85 Vols had great faith, perhaps too much, in Tony Robinson's strong right arm. When he went down, the defense significantly elevated their game and played with a sustained intensity that was previously lacking. Conversely, Daryl Dickey certainly didn't have the talent that Tony possessed, but Dickey played like a coach's son; he rarely made mistakes as a quarterback.

I say put Hyatt, Tillman, Bru and keyton out there every snap. Have a back in every play and let this machine eat. There is no way to stop all four of them and that'll just open the running game. But I trust this staff heavily. Especially on offense.

4 wide with Tillman, Hyatt, McCoy and Keaton with Fant in the backfield. How do you stop that?

Nobody can stop that!
They bring in pass cover DBs, single or double high safeties and you give the ball to Fant up the middle and let him ruin a LBs career! Put in your run stop safeties and throw home runs all day!!!!

RUN VOLS RUN!!!!
PASS VOLS PASS!!!!
