Remainder of the season 2-5

I wasn’t able to watch the game, so I don’t know about the foul discrepancy in second half. Listening on the radio, though, it was pretty clear that the Vols had to inbound the ball a few times and try to run clock before they went to the line. Should have worked in their favor, if the refs called the fouls correctly instead of a quick anticipatory whistle.
The boneheaded play by Phillips to not attempt to score, as well as the choke job on both ends by Vescovi, is why the Vols lost the game.
Dude shot the 3 with around .1 on the clock. Several factors (quick whistle, clock operation) more than accounted for that.
I’m more concerned with how they come out of this. It should hurt. Bad. Hopefully, they’ll use it as motivation and finish the regular season strong with good seeding for the NCAAT
My God, Tennessee was a step slow/behind on defense and Vandy attacked the rim getting fouled where Tennessee did not. That's the "discrepancy".

Anything is possible at this point but something like 2-5 does seem about right. This team is not very good. They need as good of a seed as possible but now I see this team on that 5 ish seed and that's not good they won't beat the 12 seed. Too many games where they go long droughts and one guy has a descent game then disappears for the next 12 games. Oh well it was a fun half season, now back to reality as usual

I always get a chuckle when analyst jump the gun about calling the "current" team one of the best in the Barnes era.

Admirals last team would mop the floor with this team. There were a couple of guys who could light it up like the "he's heating up, he'son fire" on the NBA Jam video game.

I was hoping the Kentucky game would hurt............then I hoped the Florida game would absolutely crush them lighting a fire...........now I'm not sure what to think. Really had high hopes after Gonzaga, Kansas and our fast start. Not sure if its a mental fatigue, if Barnes has them playing uptight, or they're second guessing themselves or what. But I'm starting to agree with a lot of posters that this is becoming a yearly deal about this time or upon entering the tournament. I hate to say it, but I wonder how much of it is Barnes riding them too hard and keeping them uptight and afraid to make a mistake.

That team also was poor defensively and got them beat by Purdue.

I second the motion.

Mizzou Loss
Bama Loss
Kentucky Loss
A&M Win
USC Win
Arkansas Loss
Auburn Loss

It’s going to get ugly.

Certainly wouldn't count A&M as a win. The only sure thing I see is maybe SC. But Vandy beat us, so...

Here we go again. The sky is falling
We'll never win again. I expected a tough fight. The first game was tough in Knoxville. This is often how things happen in basketball. Runs and downturns. I will say I'm surprised this team of veterans is struggling like this But they are perfectly capable of pulling it together.
i've watched more roundball this year than any previous year and one thing that is overwhelmingly happening more often than usual is good, ranked teams losing road games. i don't know where to look to get a comparison to earlier years but this year seems to be higher than normal. UT needs to put opponents away and keep 'em down and CRB seems to be still experimenting with various substitutions and that has to affect team chemistry. This far into the season he should know the quality of play each of his players can deliver and stick to good rotations, imho.

It looks like it is time to head into "dvr the game, check score, and depending on the final, delete or watch" mode

Yes — men always pissing around judging who knows more. Trust, I know more. 👍
Hilarious, a UTK crew member thinking she knows more. Your first offense is that neither you, nor I, nor anyone could possibly begin to definitively predict the outcome of any college basketball game. However, I would be willing to bet a large sum of money on your prognostication. I could be wrong, but think I would win. But, you know more. Trust.

I see them losing at least 2 more games. Alabama is hitting their stride, and is very athletic so that's one. The other is one of those toss up games that they shouldn't lose ( eg:Florida, Colorado, Vanderbilt)

We will loose out. I'm tired of following this clown show. You guys keep going over there and buying those over priced tickets. Keep giving them a sell out and contributing to the cause. We're not bad. Were bad in every phase of the game. And next year folk talk about light at the end of the tunnel. We haven't even got a tunnel. I'm going fishing. you may loose a few but the ones you catch you can eat.

I see we’re going full meltdown mode this evening.

Yep, it’s funny the guy shooting the wide open 3 at the end if he missed and we won. There would be very little outrage because we won but we would have won by not good D but the guy just missed. I mean fan bases are wild if he missed it really wouldn’t changed anything about the team but we would have a W and all would be well with most of the drive by fans on here & twiter etc.

After last years baseball season, obviously the regular seasons mean nothing. Disappointing to lose any game but just make the tournament, and let the good/bad matchups begin. Matchups determine how far most teams advance.

Maybe Barnes will watch game film of some of the teams that beat us ( like Bama, Kentucky, Vandy, ) and do exactly what they do. Steal their offense and use it against them.
