My God, Tennessee was a step slow/behind on defense and Vandy attacked the rim getting fouled where Tennessee did not. That's the "discrepancy".I wasn’t able to watch the game, so I don’t know about the foul discrepancy in second half. Listening on the radio, though, it was pretty clear that the Vols had to inbound the ball a few times and try to run clock before they went to the line. Should have worked in their favor, if the refs called the fouls correctly instead of a quick anticipatory whistle.
The boneheaded play by Phillips to not attempt to score, as well as the choke job on both ends by Vescovi, is why the Vols lost the game.
Dude shot the 3 with around .1 on the clock. Several factors (quick whistle, clock operation) more than accounted for that.
I’m more concerned with how they come out of this. It should hurt. Bad. Hopefully, they’ll use it as motivation and finish the regular season strong with good seeding for the NCAAT

I always get a chuckle when analyst jump the gun about calling the "current" team one of the best in the Barnes era.
Admirals last team would mop the floor with this team. There were a couple of guys who could light it up like the "he's heating up, he'son fire" on the NBA Jam video game.

i've watched more roundball this year than any previous year and one thing that is overwhelmingly happening more often than usual is good, ranked teams losing road games. i don't know where to look to get a comparison to earlier years but this year seems to be higher than normal. UT needs to put opponents away and keep 'em down and CRB seems to be still experimenting with various substitutions and that has to affect team chemistry. This far into the season he should know the quality of play each of his players can deliver and stick to good rotations, imho. Here we go again. The sky is falling
We'll never win again. I expected a tough fight. The first game was tough in Knoxville. This is often how things happen in basketball. Runs and downturns. I will say I'm surprised this team of veterans is struggling like this But they are perfectly capable of pulling it together.
Hilarious, a UTK crew member thinking she knows more. Your first offense is that neither you, nor I, nor anyone could possibly begin to definitively predict the outcome of any college basketball game. However, I would be willing to bet a large sum of money on your prognostication. I could be wrong, but think I would win. But, you know more. Trust.Yes — men always pissing around judging who knows more. Trust, I know more.
I see we’re going full meltdown mode this evening.
