If I were CRB, I would have told the team in the locker room in Nashville after the Vandy game, Iā€™ll see you all on Saturday. Flush it, rest, and show up at TBA on Saturday ready to start over.

Nah. They'll probably play like their pants are on fire for a few games, then revert to what we witnessed a couple nights ago. One thing is for sure they'll not be consistent offensively for more than a game or two.

You don't agree this team has some real ugly warts? What is your prediction the rest of the way? I think we're trending to lose the rest of our games, except maybe S Carolina.
The last three games have been very frustrating. Now that I've cleared my head, I actually think we were better against Vandy than we were against Florida and Auburn. Vandy made a lot of tough shots, and we had to really screw it up in the final seconds to lose. I predict we go 4-3 in our last 7 games.

Every one of the next seven teams the Vols face are capable of beating them. Conversely, there isn't a single one of the next 7 that the Vols can't beat. Saturday is a big big game. We'll know Saturday whether the team can reset and play to their very high standards or whether they will simply roll over and fade away. I'm looking for the team to return to the level of Texas and Kansas good against Missouri. If they do, they could run the table.

Yeah, I know, orange colored glasses. But, since they're my glasses I'll color them any way I choose. I like this team and I am convinced they will center themselves and find a way forward.

I'm giving them 6-1 down the stretch. I think these last three games were the wake up call they needed. They started feeling themselves. Listening to the outside noise about how good they are. Rick Barnes will get them back on track. I think we beat Bama as well. Drop one of our road games against Kentucky or auburn

But without JJJ at 100% that 6-1 would be very difficult to pull off. Santi is also at less than 100%. Awaka, Aidoo, and Mashack will need to show a lot more offense and Key and ORN will need to exhibit consistency. Uros needs to return to where he was when he peaked earlier this season. And obviously ZZ needs to play under control instead of taking high risk, low reward chances.

JMO, but they have been on a downward slide ever since they took Uros out of the starting lineup. I know he can be a little over enthusiastic some times but I also believe the team feeds off of his energy. I'm thinking it's either this or maybe fatigue is setting in. They said on one broadcast that they track players and determined that they can run up to 5 miles during a game. Not jogging, but sprinting a lot of the time.

Playing him early in each half also keeps him further away from the free throw line.

Missouri - Win
Bama - Win
UK - Loss
A&M - W *For some reason something is telling me this will be the biggest game for us as a team this season*
USCjr - W
Arkansas - W
Auburn - W

We get to the championship of the SEC tourney, lose to Bama. 2 seed in the big dance and make it to the elite 8. Boom.

Vandy played well. Give them credit. Still if you think about it. Tennessee basically won the game. I am thinking they will win their remaining home games and lose the three left on the road. That would put them at 12 and 6 conference record. Not bad. And a high 3 seed or maybe a low 2 in NCAA.

Mizzou Loss
Bama Loss
Kentucky Loss
A&M Win
USC Win
Arkansas Loss
Auburn Loss

Itā€™s going to get ugly.

I would take that bet, definitely will win more than 2. Would not surprise me a bit when we beat Alabama @ the Thommy. 3 away and 4 home.

I like you think we played better vs Vandy than UF or Aub. Vandy could not re match their play in this game. UT forced them to shoot in the last 2 seconds of shot clock numerous times. A lot of those shots they didn't want to take especially knowing a miss is a shot violation, but they hit I believe a total that came to 17 points, that and the FT discrepancies meshed together you just can't sustain the luck that had to go Vandy's way in this game. They played hard will give them that, I feel like they always play hard for Stack although I didn't see their disastrous game vs Alabama.

I'll say worst case 4-3, but I also predict an upset of Bama or Ky.

If we do only win the SC game and lose the 1st game if the SEC tourney, do we have enough to make the dance? That's 20-13 and a 9-9 conference record.

Iā€™m in the minority here but while I donā€™t think UT will run the table the last six games, it wouldnā€™t surprise me if Vols won four or five of the last six. The last two games were brutal, but it took a series of quite unlikely events at the ends of both games or else UT would be 21-4, 10-2 SEC versus 19-6, 8-4 SEC.

The unknown to me is the team psyche and how they will respond to adversity after the last two games. In order to finish the season successfully, they have to regain a chip on the shoulder, ā€œus against the worldā€ mentality and keep it- plus stay healthy of course. Everyone is down on them, including many of our own fans. If UT uses this to fuel them, they will bounce back and finish strong. On the other hand, if they sulk and have a defeatist mentality, the thread title record is very possible.
