Anybody else annoyed by the coverage of both conventions outside of the primetime 10:00 hour? Why do I want to watch talking heads talk against a backdrop of a convention floor with an actual speaker onstage?

For all his acclaim as a charismatic speaker, Barack Obama can't hold a candle to Fred Thompson.

Fred's flameout was not unlike Wes Clark's in 04. Everyone thought they would be game changers. They weren't.

Serious question: Has Fred had a stroke or something? He seems slower than usual.

Tom Brokaw just said, "It was a good night for former Tennessee senator, Fred Thompson to have a good night, after what happened to Tennessee last night in the Rose Bowl."

Talk about a sucker punch....where the hell did that come from?

I thought Lieberman's comments to Andrea Mitchell were awesome. She tried as hard as she could to get him to trash Palin but he handled it extremely well.

Well MSNBC has managed to avoid talking about the convention by focusing on Palin.

When I turned to CNN a while back, they were covering protesters and how they were being dispersed rather than discussing the convention.

Great. Now Olbermann is adding commentary to counter Rep talking points after the fact. Of course he's using Obama talking points to do so. I wonder if he similarly corrected Dem talking points?
