Republican National Convention

Great. Now Olbermann is adding commentary to counter Rep talking points after the fact. Of course he's using Obama talking points to do so. I wonder if he similarly corrected Dem talking points?

Olbermann is an embarrassment. The pundit class in this country is a joke. We are ruled by fools.

Olberman is pure political comic relief. It kills him to even think about letting a speaker have the last word. He even commented on the context of Joe Lieberman's reference to George Washington's inaugural address.

Van Susteren was just grilling Lynn Swann on why he's not going to support Obama. She couldn't understand the concept of a black man not supporting another black man based on the color of his skin. Swann had to talk real slow and 'splain it to her that it's Obama's policies and lack of any meaningful experience.

paging lawgator, Van Susteren is your kind of FNC host.

For all his acclaim as a charismatic speaker, Barack Obama can't hold a candle to Fred Thompson.

It's a shame he didn't want to be POTUS. That speach last night is the Fred I know. When I saw the way he was running and how he acted in the debates I knew he didn't really want the job. So if he didn't want it I'm glad he didn't push forward and make himself win.

I can't imagine anyone legitimately qualified for the job who would actually take it.

Wait, I'm confused...why is lieberman at the republican convention?

Because his former Party dumped on him for not towing the party line on national defense. They supported his opponent in his re-election bid. That's why he is now an Independent. After the Dems dropped him and supported his opponent he filed as an Independent and beat them all. He is a man of high integrity. I don't agree with him on several issues but I respect people who stand for what they believe in.

Obama has taken O'Reilly up on his offer for an interview anytime/anywhere. He'll appear on the O'Reilly factor Thursday night before McCain's speech.

It's certainly Obama's chance to detract attention from the RNC....but O'Reilly promises that he won't pull any punches. Could be interesting.

I have to imagine that Obama's camp will insist on some sort of script for the interview. The question is, how will Bill react to it?

I wonder who's decision it was to have this on Thursday night? McCain was classy enough to let Obama have his night.

Maybe O'Reilly offered Thursday night spot as sort of a peace offering. Either way, looks like Obama will accept the invitation and try to step on McCain's bump -- just as McCain did when he started leaking last Thursday night that he'd made his VP pick and would announce it Friday.

apples and oranges. to equate hints about a vp choice and an interview on one of the most popular prime time news talk shows in history is a stretch even for you.

Even for ME?? My apologies for the hyperbole today. I'm usually more reserved. It's just that I've finally had it with the way McCain is running his campaign. Maybe things with Palin will work out. What do I know...

Wait isn't this "political malpractice" as the Dem's whined about with McCain's VP timing.

I knew about the parting with the democrats and the independent thing, but I didn't know the republicans would invite an independent to speak at the republican convention; I thought the GOP saved that for actual members. Are they trying to get him to join or something?
