Gimme a break. Medical MJ is a joke.

Do you think science is a joke? Because the medical profession is against you on this.

And to VolsNSkins, of course it has implications in this election. Just cause you don't care doesn't mean millions of Americans don't. And that's all beside the point. The point is Romney is a d-bag that wouldn't answer the dude's question.

I posted a story a few days ago about Newt and how there are some questioning whether he even wants to win. Then it went on to tell the story about why most of his staff walked out on him a few months ago.

This nonsense does nothing to disprove that theory. Newt never really had his heart in this. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is the 2012 version of Fred Thompson.

Look, I'm all for legalizing it, but the majority of people using medical MJ go to quack doctors who will write a Rx for anyone that tells them they get migraines. It's a joke bro. Plus, there are plenty of alternatives for those who are truly using it for medicine. Not buying it.

K I misinterpreted what you were saying. The prescription game is a joke, but it's because doctors are aware of all of the benefits and the fact that it's relatively harmless to consume.

My wife went through chemotherapy last year, and if she took MJ than she could treat herself for about 5 different side effects of the chemo. Her alternative was to take 5 different man-made medicines that all have unpleasant side effects themselves and a few were somewhat dangerous.

Calling the next potus a douche isn't a very nice thing to do

Honestly, with you likely being on the other side of this issue, wouldn't you like to hear his response? Even if you don't care about this specific issue, wouldn't you like to hear your candidate stick to his guns, whatever they are?

Answer the question, Mitt. We want to know what you intend to do with DOJ resources.

Paul Goldman helps Newt Gingrich with Virginia ballot - Mike Allen - POLITICO.com

"We are announcing today that we are teaming up with former Virginia Democratic Party Chairman Paul Goldman to make sure the voters of the Commonwealth have a fair and transparent presidential primary process,” said Pascoe. “As a Democrat, Mr. Goldman – who has a demonstrated history of success in expanding ballot access in Virginia – brings clean hands to the effort. He doesn’t have a horse in this race, so no one can claim he’s acting on behalf of anyone other than the citizens of Virginia.

Gingrich Fails to Qualify for Va. Primary Ballot - ABC News
Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich failed to qualify for Virginia's Super Tuesday primary ballot, the latest setback for a candidate whose standing in polls has been slipping. Gingrich's campaign said he would pursue an aggressive write-in campaign, though state law prohibits write-ins on primary ballots.

My aunt has had MS for years. She's tried tons of "alternatives," and the only medication that makes life relatively normal is MMJ. If that's a joke, then I guess it's not that funny, bro.

My sister in law had MS. she used MJ until she felt it was wrong to break the law. she went down hill fast after that and died about 6 months ago. I don't see the joke.

My wife has PBC (Walter Payton's disease) and Psoriatic arthritis. We are doing well on the legal medications but you can go ahead and assume we will being trying MMJ if the need arises later.

That's her to the left. Ain't she cute!

How is MMJ ingested (smoked, put in food, something else?)? I apologize for my ignorance. I'm guessing it's mainly smoked

It always seems that those who think it's silly/are against its legalization know as much about it as, say... your average third grader listening to a DARE officer.

When I was younger, I was prescribed abilify, xanax, and equalizers like depakote. After 2 years of letting pharm companies narcotize the bejeezus out of me, I sought counseling and starting regularly smoking marijuana. Proud to say I've had neither a manic episode nor a narcotic pill in 4 years.

It doesn't work for everyone, and it's often not the very best treatment. But, it seems to work for enough people to at least be a legal alternative to eating Zoloft like M&M's.

tell me about it.....

Pain meds have to be manufactured. MJ grows everywhere.
Pain meds are very addictive MJ not so much.
Pain meds have bad side effects MJ again not so much.
MJ has other uses than just pain.

And the worst offenders are my Christian friends. They always want to know how, as a Christian, I can be for it. I remind them that God says in the Bible He gave us Herbs as medicine and they just stare at me blankly.

Like I said, the worst offenders are usually those who simply haven't tried it.

You're right, though. By Christian logic and as a plant, it is something God made. Yes, the Bible says to obey the laws of the land, but surely there are exceptions.
