Just like Obama so I'm not sure either side can make it an issue

Either side may not make an issue out of a candidate refusing to answer a question about a political topic.but the moderate voter could base his/ her on that.

Very sly tactics (most politicians utilize these tactics) which I am not in favor of but it is simply not the same as blatantly telling interviewers that one cannot ask a certain question.

Well I figured that was already assumed by him ignoring the WH press

Nice interview of the Romney family this morning by Fox. It's very clear they are competitive, traditional family and will represent this country well

Republican delegates will begin the roll call vote to officially nominate Mitt Romney for president on Monday at the national convention in Tampa, which could allow Romney to accept the GOP nomination earlier in the week than has occurred at previous conventions.

The formal presidential nomination process will begin earlier than past years in part because of concerns about supporters of libertarian Texas Rep. Ron Paul, Republican officials said Thursday. Officials are also discussing the impact that Tropical Storm Isaac could have on the convention.

Mitt Romney nomination pushed up on concerns about storm, Ron Paul

LOL..Now that's some funny stuff.

Ron Paul is going to fall in line no matter what his supporters want him to do (which is disrupt the process and rain on Romney's parade). He ran as a Republican and he's going to stay a Republican if he wants Rand to have a future in national politics.

Speaking on the eve of the Republican National Convention, Ron Paul reassured hundreds of ecstatic supporters at a rally here Sunday that the revolution he began is far from over.

"Let me tell you, I was a little afraid to come down here," Paul told the crowd at his Sun Dome rally. "I wasn't afraid of Hurricane Isaac. But there have been a lot of news headlines that say the Revolution is over....They're saying the Revolution isn't happening — they wish!"

It is being reported that Ron Paul turned down a chance to speak at the convention because he did not want to have his speech approved by the Romney campaign.

And he said he could only give a partial endorsement of Romney, and they wanted a full endorsement. I don't find fault with either side on this. Wonder if they'll still show the Ron Paul tribute video?

Don't know Volinbama just posted a revised schedule ibm the GOP convention thread.

it should be in that schedule if they are showing the video. With him not speaking they probably will not be showing it.

Back in the old days (not that old, really) disagreements and people refusing to fall into line were common. It's the effort now by both sides to present a unified front that causes this kind of situation.

Like person above posted, no one's really in the wrong.

China's state-controlled media lashed out at GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney Monday, warning that his policies would poison U.S.-China relations.

"By any standard, the U.S. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's China policy, as outlined on his official campaign website, is an outdated manifestation of a Cold War mentality," read a commentary in Monday's China Daily. "It endorses the ‘China threat' theory and focuses on containing China's rise in the Asia-Pacific through bolstering the robust U.S. military presence in the region."

The Chinese state-owned outlet said that Romney was "provoking" China by promising to supply Taiwan with aircraft and other military platforms and called his China approach "pugnacious."

Johnson campaign has had enough of Republican ballot shenanigans - West Palm Beach Libertarian | Examiner.com

With word Friday that a challenge has been lodged in Ohio to try to remove Libertarian Party presidential candidate and former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson's name from the November ballot in Ohio, a senior advisor to Johnson's campaign is charging that the national Republican Party is mounting a concerted effort to "deny citizens the right to vote for the candidate of their choice."

F*** the GOP.

I use to have slightly more respect for the GOP than the other party. If they are even remotely successful in their attempt to throw Johnson off the ballot, I will never vote for another Republican again. I tend to vote Republican in most local, state, and congressional elections.

Former OMB boss David Stockman told CNBC that Romney’s vision of capitalism is not possible if the Federal Reserve continues to run the economy. Stockman said the only candidate that had it right was Ron Paul.

“He was the only one that had it right about the Fed,” Stockman said. “The Fed is the heart of the problem. We have destroyed the capital markets, the money markets. Interest rates mean nothing. Everything is trading off the Fed. Wall Street isn’t even home. It’s a bunch of computers trading word clouds emitted by this central bank or that.”

Stockman said that with the insane interest rate policies of the Fed, the crushing debt of entitlements and the neocon-driven war machine with a parasitical military-industrial complex in tow will continue to roll on unless something gives.
