One of the best answers I've ever heard to that question came from Bill Clinton. Bob Dole brought up that question in 1996 and Clinton responded "If you are ordering a pizza . . . Who would you rather have help you choose the toppings?"

Is there just 1 on either side who's moral character is such that you'd leave your children alone with them for an afternoon? I'm waiting to see if this election too is gonna be another lesser of two evils choice, or will we get an honorable strong decent leader?

Isn't it always the choice of lesser of two evils?

Isn't it always the choice of lesser of two evils?

People say that all the time, but honestly I never feel that way. The system is what it is and you vote for the guy you think will do the best job. No candidate is going to be perfect . . . and no candidate will ever be worthy of watching my children.

That's right. The best job given the choice. The primary system is not exactly the best way to get the best candidate of the party. Primaries are loaded in ways that cater to a few initial states just to gather momentum. Anyone not in the primaries by Feb 5 pretty much is stuck with whoever is selected by that point.

It is a little annoying that Iowa and New Hampshire matter so much.

They need to have a scattered primary where groups of states are lumped together to hold primaries in set dates. And lump the largest states together at the very end to ensure candidates actually have to travel all over the country and fight to the end. Make it a loner vetting process. It gives plenty of time to weed out the fluff and idiots who trip over their own words. Seeing how many times the polls change in the past 2 months lets you see that people still are not sure who they like and those candidates really have failed to articulate a message.

I agree. As it stands now, the goal is to be in the top 2 or 3 coming out of New Hamshire and make it to Super Tuesday the first week of Frebruary where the nominee will effectively be chosen. The timing is way too compressed.

What could end up sucking about Huckabee is that he doesn't feel he needs help with his fiscal policies. It'd be great if he could get a VP with fiscal genius.

Just an update on the latest polling numbers. Huckabee is solidly in 2nd place with 19% only 5% behind Guliani with 24%. He is really surging, making race out of it.
