He’s not exactly sure when his thumb injury occurred. Filled with adrenaline and trying to press through a rough start, Peterman tried to keep playing through the pain.
“I knew it was hurt,” he said. “I was kind of willing myself to not be hurt. I didn’t want to be hurt so bad, I kind of hoped it was just a jam, but it turned out to be a little more serious, but like I said, I believe everything happens for a reason.”

If something happens to Dobbs the next 2 games - he probably will but then he really should transfer if he wants to play.

I wish him well but I do not want to see him take the field again unless he is just mopping up.

Show us more Dobbs and Riley next season please.

I'm not sure he's really anywhere near as bad as he played vs Florida. Frankly he should not have been put in that situation in the first place IMO. The injury apparently contributed to the bad performance as well.

I am certain he can play better than he did.

The problem is, he is now known for that horrible performance, even if it wasn't a true indicator of what he can do. Maybe that's just the way it works. Stink it up on the road vs a major SEC rival and you are pretty much finished.

Which would be too bad if true, but as you say he can transfer.

I think he is a worker, gave or gives his all but he is no where near a starting QB in the SEC. I hate to say it but think his days at UT are numbered. Feel for him.

Peterman had one of the worst performances ive ever seen as a first time starter.

However, Im not going to completely give up on him because he struggled as a freshman making his first start in the swamp. He also only found out he was going to be starting the day of the game. The guy deserves at least a fair chance to earn the job again going into next year unless Dobbs lights it up the rest of the season. JMO

Just want to preclude this by saying that I wish him the best of luck with his injury and that I really want him to succeed at UT. That being said, he looked like hot garbage against Austin Peay too.

What's sad is people are judging and projecting his career on one half of his first start on the road in the Swamp.

Not claiming he should transfer because everyone thinks he is bad, but because Jones recruited Dobbs and Fergs - Peterman would just be better off playing elsewhere in a system he knows better -

He was recruited by Jones at cincy, this is the system he should excel at.

If we are going to judge and give up on a qb after a bad performance on the road then we are down to Ferguson.

I thought that his play at Florida was partly due to him being thrown in the fire against an S.E.C. team and that he might recover. However; once I realized that he had an injury, it was obvious that he would be sidelined and one of the freshmen would take the reins and not give it up.

If he has a desire to play college football, he should transfer at the seasons end and head to U.T. Chattanooga, Furman, App. State, etc.

well it isn't so obvious to me, young Mr Dobbs has had his share of passes thrown at receivers feet and over there heads,he has a steep learning curve also and he wasn't injured

The QB position will be wide open next year and he will be in there too. All of them will get their chances before it is said and done.

May the best man win.
