Joe Morgan and Jon Miller are the best sportscasters of all-time. They used to call baseball games for ESPN. No one else comes close.

Please tell me you heard his voice because they were playing the broadcast over a speaker. Because if Jon was in there watching women pee I’m going to have to rethink my opinion of him. When I still lived in Knoxville (pre-California), Joe and Jon did West Coast games on Sunday nights. I was mad when each were let go, but livid when Jon left. He had the best radio voice (including TV) that I ever heard.
I was really startled the first time I heard his voice in the ladies’ room at AT&T Park.
Johnny Bench and Pete Rose were exactly the opposite. A friend of mine took his little league team to St Louis to watch the Reds and Cardinals. They waited outside the hotel dining room at breakfast time to get autographs after they finished breakfast. Bench and Rose brushed past the kids and said we don’t have time for you but the rest of the team stopped and signed for the kids and talked to them for a good period of time.Hubs said that in the early 80’s, he started a league for kids called the Joe Morgan league. Anyone could join, including girls, and everyone played. They all got a hat, and he covered all expenses.
It’s so easy to be kind. So hard to understand why more people aren’t.
RIP Joe. You were one of my ones to look up to when I was a young'n.Another legend lost in this ****** 2020. RIP Joe Morgan!
Joe Morgan spent 8 seasons as a member of the Cincinnati Reds and the Big Red Machine. He was an All Star in all 8 seasons. He won 2 MVPs and was a 2 time World Series Champ. His Career WAR of 100.5 ranks 4th among all 2nd Baseman to ever play MLB. He will forever be remembered as the starting 2nd baseman for undoubtedly one of the greatest lineups to ever step play.
Rose is okay if you see him at the horse track and buy him a drink. He'll talk to you then.Johnny Bench and Pete Rose were exactly the opposite.
