Rest In Peace

I told my son, I’m letting Liam decide what to call me. That’s what my son did with my MIL. He called her Gitty. At first I wanted that for me, but she was such a awesome person, MIL and grandmother, it didn’t feel right, there was only one Gitty and that’s the way it will stay.

saw them in 1972 or 73 in Muscle Shoals area (possibly a place in Florence). The tri--cities area was getting better acts than places in Huntsville, where I was living at the time.

I have a soft spot for the tri-cities area. An awesome Aunt and Uncle lived in Florence, and my Aunt is still there. Was a UT cheerleader in the early 50’s.

I lived in the Montgomery area just long enough to fix my ‘67 Bug so that I could trust it to travel a couple hundred highway miles. Got a job in Atlanta (how many times that’s happened…), stayed a few months, then moved on to Tennessee.

If I am remembering correctly, I went to see ZZ Top during their Recycler Tour. I think I remember Hill and Gibbons getting in some machine and coming out in a square bundle of recycled stuff, with only their heads sticking out of the top. They rolled around on the stage for a while. Good thing they didn't drive off the stage, because they didn't have any roll bars.
