5 OL a year once the numbers level out. 5 DL a year also. Legit line play will drag the rest of the team along. Does anyone think you take maybe one guy a year that is an instate diehard UT fan but a 3 star? Cody Robinson maybe?

Here's how I think they will break it down after this upcoming year....

In 2012 expect.....

QB - 1
RB/FB - 2
WR - 3
TE - 1
OL - 4
DL (DT and DE) - 5
LB - 3
DB - 4
ATH - 1
K - 1

That's 26, with 1 non-qualifier.

I would thank you for that Eric, but the button is gone. :hi:

Yeah, 2012 we should be able to get what every teams does, we should not have huge needs... We should be able to go after the best...

I do want everyone to understand something though, Dooley will go after the best, but only if they have legitimate interest in UT. He's not going to go pander to prospects that we don't have a good shot with, IMO. He will build solid relationships with schools and prospects that want to help us win and believe in what we offer and in where we want to go as a program. He's not going to puff up some 18 year old kid just to play to his ego. This staff will recruit well, but be more focused on getting guys done early and getting the midtermers. Dooley knows thats how you get a leg up.

Yeah, i understand, but being UT, a great program and history , I want him to go for a lot of the best... I love the midterm idea, it is going to be so great having a third of the guys in practicing pretty well a full year...

I think we need two TEs. In 2011, our TEs will be two seniors and Adderly(who knows if he will be any good).

Way better posts and reads on this side of the site versus what I am now dubbing OFF-season speculation nation. Regarding this topic is anyone willing to take their head counts and put some names to watch next to it?

Maclain will be a TE, IMO. We are going to recruit for natural positions, if we can. Maclain has a good chance to become a force at TE. Remember, the TE blocks as well.

He's already 270 pounds. Just because he plays TE doesn't mean it's his natural position(see every other HS QB). I'm sure he causes matchup problems in HS because he's athletic for his size. In college, he won't.

They can probably get 15 pounds off of him though. 255 is a great size for a TE.

He's lean for 270. Chances are he's bigger than that by the time he gets on campus.

He caught 8 passes as a sophomore, and that's when he was offered. Not sold that Fulmer was looking at him as a receiving threat.

Waste of talent leaving him at TE IMO.

Bartholomew will be a Sr. but Rivera will only be a Jr. He has 3 years to play 3. Adderly and Wegzyn are both walk-ons at TE. You may be right about taking 2. I don't think MacLain will be a TE though. Big time OT imo.

With our dire needs at OL & DT, I think we are definitely going to have to go JUCO. Can anyone start a thread for that discussion? I would love to know who the best for '11 class are.

Damn man, get an avatar. It's messing with me since I usually associate people with the picture.

Might I suggest the top one for the avatar and the bottom one for the sig...

I don't see any way that Maclain loses 15 lbs once he gets one campus. Dude has an NFL OT frame. He'll get here and blow up just like Douglas did. By his RS Fr or true So year, he will be around 290-300.
