Sorry it's taken me so long to respond... Holidays and work have been keeping me busy. A couple of things to note:
1. You'll always be able to find some joe schmo who can make a mock draft and put it on the internet, so posting links to mock drafts where Tiny is listed in the first round is meaningless... You also need to look at the dates on all of those to see when the last time they have been updated/edited.
2. I never said he wouldn't go in the first round. I said he wasn't a sure thing like many believed he'd be at the beginning of the year. He underperformed this season. That's not a knock at all against the kid. As I clearly stated I know he'll be in the NFL someday it's just a matter of when. He still COULD go in the first round if a team falls in love with him, or believes they can fix his problems soon.
3. This NFL Draft class is LOADED with OT this year. Matthews, Lewan, Kouandjio, Moses, Iowa OT, Hurst, Collins, Richardson, and even the RT for A&M have all received first round grades at some point... With an underperforming year it has caused Tiny's draft stock to slide, which will cost him money in the range of millions of dollars. It will cost him even more if he falls out of the first round, which according to many NFL people I've talked to about him could very easily happen right now. Tiny isn't going to blow people away at the combine... He's not a workout freak like a Lane Johnson last year. He's 6'6 330 lbs and has long arms and good feet. He's also strong for his size as well and has minimal body fat for an offensive lineman. He will not improve his stock that much participating in the combine. He has no senior bowl to compete in if he comes out this year being a junior, so he cannot show his talents there either.
4. If he comes back and fine tunes a few issues in his game, he could go in the top ten next season. Tiny is a very motivated kid and I believe he will dedicate himself and use this season as motivation if he gives it another year to the point where he'll be a sure fire first round pick and possible top ten selection.
5. Anyone who claims to be "fine" or "glad" with the departure of Tiny or AJ is a moron. There is no one in this recruiting class that can replace either of them at this point. Both would be welcome and awesome additions to the 2014 squad. Both would help in areas of need as well. Tiny would help especially considering the depletion of our entire offensive line unit. He would also allow Blair to start out at RT and avoid putting pressure on a guy who has no experience playing in the SEC at LT. I'm not saying Blair couldn't handle the left side, it's just not rocket science given the choice between he and Richardson...
6. I wish Tiny nothing but the best with whatever choice he and his family make. Like I said, I do not know his family situation very well. He might need to go pro early and support his family. If that's the case more power to him and wish him nothing but the best of luck and thank him for all he gave to this program.
