May be just me but I think AJ's natural position is DE. We just had zero Lb's he's basically the same size as Jac Smith

I disagree with you about AJ. I think staying would absolutely help his draft stock.

Here's why:

1. Another year in Janecks system would help him learn this system better and be more efficient in his angles and vision. Don't forget the guy has been coached by three different Defensive coaches as well as three different linebacker coaches. That isn't good for anyone's discipline as each have taught spacing and hand checks differently.

2. Downhill running and pad leverage. Again another year in this system will help improve how he uses his leverage as again, he has been coached different by multiple coaches on how to leverage his body off the ball improving his SPEED. AJ looks slow off the ball because of his leverage and that FIRST step. I assure you the guy isn't slow and for his size at middle linebacker he is alot faster than many at his position.

3. Strength and Conditioning. He like all kids his age are growing into their (man bodies). Not sure how is to put that but another year in the weight room, doing cones, and speed drills could help him at 21 years old.

4. Last and finally confidence. Another year for him as a leader and having more help around him, Weatherd, Bates, Maggit healthy, Muhon, etc.. I can't tell you how critical it is to have trusty help on your outsides which allows him to play in himself and not trying to make the play every time because he's the leader and no one else can.

Sorry for the length but you need to understand before you just say go pro another year isn't worth it. If he performs and improves like he should and is capable with my points I'm saying mid-late first or early second

Spot on

Anyone saying AJ is slow, is an idiot. The dude is crazy quick for a MLB, and one hell of an athlete. He only *appears* slow to some of you because quick slot WRs catch lots of balls when he's put in man coverage on them.... well no ****, there's a reason thats called a mismatch for EVERY middle linebacker. MLBs shouldn't be able to cover a WR for more than about 2 seconds.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but the word I have heard is that the coaches tried to really take care of Tiny's knees this year. In practice they tried to limit his lateral movement so to save his knees for as long as possible. The goal for every nfl prospect now is to get to the 2nd contract, and with Tiny's knees already a problem, and coaches trying to save pounding on them as much as possible...it all points to him leaving this year. We certainly can't blame him for that.

Typical VN. No one will miss Tiny and AJ in December but come September people will be crying for them. Happens every year.

AJ isn't crazy quick at all. I love him and hope he sticks around for 1 more year, but his speed isn't that great.

I don't think he's as slow as many would make him out to be, but he's a 4.7-4.8 guy at best.

So there are a lot of 4.4 MLB out there?

I hope they both stay. It would be good for us and good for them. It's been a tough three years, but next year could make a difference. They'll probably both move on and take the paycheck, though.

lol at best, eh? you mean despite average clocked 40 times around 4.7 and as low as 4.6? Heck even in high school he was running 4.7, and he's gotten faster since then. Hell if he was as slow as you thought he was he'd be a damn DT lol
