My 3G grandad was in the Panola Cavalry. Served under Van Dorn until he was shot by a jealous husband and later served under Forest, who is responsible for every member of my family being alive because he kept his men in Murfreesboro instead of sending them to be foot cavalry in Hood's folly at Nashville.
They gonna burn down The Hermitage next?
Do you realize it's dumb to argue against bias while displaying bias? I'm just curious what you think that accomplishes? It's okay to have an opinion that you don't like the statues and you want to see them removed, but you don't get to say who is and is not a "real American". This isn't a nation of "everyone must think like me or else".Anyone that wants treasonous Confederate statues isn't a real American.
Honoring the Confederacy is like honoring the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. How bout we build a statue of bin Laden and all his lieutenants as well? You know, for the history.Do you realize it's dumb to argue against bias while displaying bias? I'm just curious what you think that accomplishes? That's an unintelligent comparison. They were still Americans. A failed rebellion does not change that. And like I said, you are entitled to your opinion when it comes to the statues. You don't get to decide who is or isn't an American. I'd say the same thing to anyone claiming Muslim Americans aren't "real Americans". You're displaying a bias of your own, which is counterproductive to the message you seem to support.Honoring the Confederacy is like honoring the Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Are you trying to say all Muslims are/were in the Taliban or Al-Qaeda?That's an unintelligent comparison. They were still Americans. A failed rebellion does not change that.
