I’m not black so I really do not understand if/how these things affect some people.....I mean as they do not me.
However I find it senseless to tear down statues and such without addressing larger issues first.
Larger issues “could” be greatly improved by simply fixing many inner city infrastructures. Allow any/all kids to go anywhere to school or fix broken school systems. This helps kids not only to be better educated, but also with self esteem, and provides with with a better “personal” outlook (on their current situation and their future). This will in turn lower crime, and lower unemployment. This, in turn will increase the economic situation of individuals, families and communities. All of this will strengthen the family unit (within many inner cities) as more fathers would be better educated, working, making more $, and staying within the family unit (more frequently) rather than being in jail or prison.
With more skilled workers available and crime down more business opportunities would become available in these communities.....which would keep increasing and strengthening everything mentioned above.
With better educations, lower crime, more $, more and better opportunities, and a better overall family life/structure peoples stress would even be lessened. All of these thing would lower alcoholism, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy and abortions.
Now going back to “infrastructure” solving education does a lot; however you have to keep building, fixing and solving other infrastructure problems (within said communities). Fixing roads, bridges, and rebuilding hospitals among other things also increases and strengthens the above. This creates more jobs, provides better healthcare and increases morale for a community.
All these things would take a crap load of $; however if you can fight endless wars sometimes without even defined enemies and spend 7 trillion dollars and spend another 7 trillion (or more) on Rona bailouts.....you can afford this......it will also pay itself back, unlike endless wars (I understand wars make $, but usually not for communities or even the federal government).
To solve many of the problems and to fix communities you have to fix people and families. We cannot necessarily “fix people” however by people gaining educations and $, and not going to jail and prison (as often)(and this isn’t a “color” thing, it’s an under educated, and poor “thing” that has been neglected and left behind by those in power for the most part) this all strengthens the person and family unit. Simply by keeping the family unit intact everyone has a better chance for a better outcome.
This simply isn’t rocket science. Improve education, improve the community, and people and families are improved. When this happens crime decreases money increases and the whole thing starts to snowball....the other way. We simply have to have leaders who “want” to do it.
Now back to tearing down statues and such. “If” people really want to do this because of slavery, discrimination, and such....the very first thing which should be torn down, destroyed, and forgotten should be the Democratic Party.....right? Sure the people were elected so I’m not saying get rid of them, but the “Party.” All portraits, statues, banners, and everything....this should all be destroyed first.
Hey rename it whatever the people want.....I don’t care. I just don’t see why folks want say, Lincoln destroyed, but not the Democratic Party. They are the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow and all of it. Again I started by saying I can’t understand, however I’m now stating the obvious....the “Democratic Party” seems much more of a bitter memory, an eye sore and something which should not be celebrated.......than any statue which has already been torn down.
I’m not a Democrat (which is obvious), but I’m not condemning democrats. I’m merely stating the obvious. I’m also not saying all democrats are bad, or all democrat leaders are bad, nor am I saying any current democrat is in any way racist. I’m merely saying it’s a “statue” in itself which if any “should” be removed.....that one should be first.
Also I’m not for confederate flags. Never have been and never will be. For me I think it’s a hateful image for some, and I think it has no place (for me). Im American, and I love the red white and blue.....I need no other flag. Hey if your a history and/or civil war buff I could somewhat understand....but most people who have/use these flags know very little (about the subject) they merely see it as a southern thing. I think it’s a southern thing which has no use in our society. Again I’m only giving my opinion. I also do not want the “rights” of folks infringed upon.
