He’s not a bad coach. However, he’s an average coach at best.
Is another program throwing $5 million at him after matching Texas Tech’s highest win total in history?
Yes, Calipari and Coach K. Despite the talent recruited because of their blue-blood status, their national championships are way below what they should be based on talent.Notice the outlier in this group?
Highest paid college basketball coaches 2021
- John Calipari of Kentucky: Salary- $8 million. ...
- Mike Krzyzewski of Duke: Salary- $7 million. ...
- Jay Wright of Villanova: Salary-$6 million. ...
- Chris Beard of University of Texas at Austin: Salary- $5 million. ...
- Rick Barnes of Tennessee: Salary- $4.95 million.

Ok I’ll give you he’s “ above average “ during regular season but below average in post seasonHe has coached 33 seasons, and averaged 22 wins a year……almost 23 (22.72).
Not too many “average” coaches do that.
Bob Knight averaged almost 21
Jim Boeheim is at 22
Bob Huggins is at 22
Rick Pitino 21
Jay Wright 22
He certainly isn’t the greatest coach…….however he is FAR from an “average” coach.
Heck will Wade is at 22.7 over 8 years not 30+ and we know that guy cheats.
Times have changed no coach is guaranteed a great season every year thanks to the one and done crapHe has coached 33 seasons, and averaged 22 wins a year……almost 23 (22.72).

Sorry bro. Not the facts.Bull. He left because the program was heading into an off year so he ran away before he was fired. Then he did it again at Cal.
