He couldn't help that Z fouled out or that Vesovi/Awaka messed up in the end.

The whole stagnant offense is his fault. Everyone wants to boil it down to one FT or one play, but his teams always have big issues on offense.

I don’t like Barnes, he is a regular season coach. I get we have never been a basketball school but I want an offensive minded basketball coach. Tired of this teams identity being defense and when it comes tourney time we can’t buy a bucket. It’s just my opinion, you don’t have to agree or anybody else, but I’m over Barnes. That being said I’ll be at the game against Alabama maybe we can turn it around. GBO

Tennessee is in a better spot than they have ever been regarding basketball status. We are an attractive spot to a lot of coaches now as of now. Before we wasn’t but times have changed. Barnes got us 3/4 of the way there but we need someone else to get us to the top. We can do that. We can hire an elite basketball coach at Tennessee now. Will we? Do I know the names off the top of my head now. No so don’t ask.

I can tell you right now with absolute certainty, that If Barnes decides to play ON the majority of the second half instead of Awaka, the game isn't even close at the end. ON has absolutely killed the last 2 games.

Totally unprepared? We must not have watched the same game. Mizzou made a ton of contested shots in the first half.

Barnes' teams had offense issues even at Texas...as a fan base we knew what were getting.

I love Barnes and what he has done for Tennessee basketball. At the end of the day, he'll go in the books as one of, if not the best, coach to roam the sidelines of TBA.

That said, I think it's time for the ol' gentleman to hang up the whistle and let Tennessee basketball grow and take that next step.

Barnes should have made those FTs.

Barnes should have put together an appropriate roster with go to scorers, focused on building offensive capabilities including the ability to drive and score, and had his team confident and motivated. Eventually multiple fluke losses are on leadership. Glad we have football and baseball head coaches that we don’t have to go into mental gymnastics for.

I gave him credit for the comeback earlier. Like I say when he deserves it I bash, when he earns credit he gets it.
He did solid with the lineup in the second half.
Vescovi has to hit his free throws.

Barnes going to the smell lineup was a brilliant move that led to the comeback.
