I agree but he doesn’t recruit to a certain philosophy or style. It’s getting Butchesque in just chasing stars whether or not they fit his style/system.

This. He does not contribute on the offensive end like an upperclassman should. Doesnt even look to score. With Fulk under the weather, only upper classmen contributing offensively at a high level are Vescovi and nmkoa (sp). Hard to have good offense like that.

Without some decent inside play/scoring this will continue. Dribbling around and then launching a 3 is not an offense and hasn't worked all year.

Nah players don’t suck and Barnes has his faults no doubt. But missing 14 free throws tonight cost then the game or a legit shot at winning it.

The point is he has a roster of players with no offensive identity and vastly different styles. The UK game in Rupp last year, KJ and Springer basically said eff the philosophy/game plan and just took over doing what they’re good at which was getting up and down the floor. If he’s going to get the athletes like that then turn them loose and let them go.

At this point it looks like two straight years the team regressed as the season progressed.

I’d love to know how much talent Weekend at Barnesie‘s needs to have an elite team that matches his his rank in coaching pay? Don’t give me the Williams/Schofield team that couldn’t beat Loyola Chicago and advance with a clear path to the Final Four.

He walked on the bridge and Hamilton lit the fire. Hamilton absolutely screwed UT in basketball and football more than anyone in history and that's a big statement with how poorly Dickey ran basketball and Fulmer's Pruitt turd tornado.

Barnes is a good coach. It is amazing to me how quick people forget how bad Tennessee was when Barnes showed up. It is fire the coach idiots that ran Fulmer off. How did that work out.

TN isn’t even ranked most of the time. Now TN is supposed to be in the S16 EVERY year (there were only 7 Sweet 16s ever before CRB showed up).

I think it’s early January and our PGs are true freshmen. I think this is a very good team. An EE is still very much within reach. With a bad coach, a 20 point second half deficit grows to 30 or more. Well coached players don’t quit and cut it to 5 with several chances to get it even closer.

Pearl is a cheater. However, he is a better coach than Barnes all day long. Just the way it is. I am happy with Barnes as the coach. Tennessee could do a whole lot worse and has.

This team is a round of 32 ext. Quarters in the SEC tourney. This team aint it. This team isnt physical. Isnt good at shooting. Weak in the post. Terrible at the FT line.
