Ricky Gervais monologue at Golden Globes. "You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world."

There are plenty of inept ones with perfect grammar too. Fostering active toddlers with G-tubes they occasionally can come out and we have to make a trip to the ER. Sometimes they have to get the surgeon to get one back in and sometimes they just pop back in. On a couple occasions I’ve had a nurse try to use the wrong connector to flush the new G-tube and one actually did while I’m telling her it won’t work. Of course she ruined it so we had to take the one out that we just caught hell putting in and replace it with another one all while dealing with a distraught toddler. Had another nurse that tried to directly flush/inject the G-tube with saline.
That's why you listen to the families and the pt. They are a wealth of information that just helps me do my job better.

My parents had 37 special needs foster kids over almost 20 years. Typically 2 at a time. Both of my little sisters are former foster that my parents adopted. One is HIV positive and the other was abused as a baby. They are both in their early 20s and thriving Praise God. My 1st little sister Monique that my parents adopted lost her battle with cancer on her 2nd birthday. It almost killed my mom it hurt her so badly.

You are doing the Lords work, I am proud of you and your family. It is a sacrifice and a blessing to be a foster parent...and can be very hard on your heart. God bless you and yours brother. Keep up the good fight. Most people have no idea how pitiful some of these kids are...who have been beaten, neglected, never fed enough or properly. Never been loved the way that every child deserves to be. You give them the love that they want and need...and that is to be commended. God knows what you do. He sees your hearts.

Also...its sad to sit back and watch someone make a fool of themself when everyone else knows that they are lying....especially when that lie was told in order to be a dbag to the only lady that posts here.. a lady who in my recollection never insults or fusses with anyone here....

" I'll take 'How to make a fool of myself, and make everyone hate me' for $500 Alex."

Brilliant.

It’s difficult but rewarding. The toughest part is actually dealing with various social services. The child I was referring to has had her G-tube out for well over a year and thriving. The adoption worker for her will be out Thursday and she will be the 2nd we adopted. We had fostered twins, a boy and girl, that had been abused and we were assured they would never go back. Long story short after 2 years the guardian and case worker went behind our backs and let a great aunt adopt them (she is over 70 and the kids are 2) and we weren’t informed until the 3rd day of court for permanent placement. They gave us an hour to say our goodbyes. After that we aren’t sure we will do anything beyond respite going forward.

It's a lost cause 72. The little jack wads are ignorant to what it takes to live and thrive.

You have no idea what I do or don't know about life. Since you were talking about me, a "grammar Nazi," you must be saying only people with bad grammar know what it takes to survive.

Please keep on replying. It's pure fool's gold every time you post.

My sister is a 40 year charge nurse/manager in ICU and CCU. She saves peoples lives and uses correct grammar. In fact, she gets rid of nurses who don't use correct grammar.

Quite the interesting post.

How does she determine which ones get fired? Is there a table so that nurses know that subject/verb disagreement earns more of a penalty than say, a pitiful little dangling participle?

I mean your sister sounds very sharp, so surely these firings due to grammar have some data behind them, right? Otherwise, she is just issuing out punishment like an uneducated fool.

I’d rather be repeatedly kicked in the coin purse than watch an evening of actors congratulating each other on how well they play make believe.

I only watch to hear their knowledgeable views on politics and world affairs.
