Riley Ferguson had a fractured tibia

also the tibia being the smaller bone in leg means it should hopefully heal quicker and not effect his future playing ability

Wow. You're way off.

this may be dumb, and obviously he's only 85% so it won't happen, but if he did play, couldn't he still get a medical redshirt since it's only 1 game?

And to make sure everything is perfectly clear. From the knee down is known as the leg. From the hip to the knee is known as the thigh. Yes, people point to the thigh and say they hurt their leg. This is incorrect.

Butch should have made this public knowledge...I knew there was no way in hades Dobbs is the better of the two.

Why should he make public? You do know that schools have a greater obligation to guard the confidentiality of the student athlete under HIPAA. You don't know that Ferguson is better than Dobbs, either.

Haven't seen this posted but just heard that Riley Ferguson has had a fractured tibia and is just now back to about 85%.

Thanks for posting this, Freak. I feel a little better knowing that he was never an option Saturday.

People said the same things about Peterman they are saying about RF. He was supposed to be Brett Favre. Lets see him play before we say who is better. RF would not have looked good against this schedule. True freshmen make mistakes against good Ds.

Well, to be completely honest, it's nothing any different than what we heard about Dobbs before he ever took a live snap. Just goes to show, the backup is always the answer until he proves he is not.

This really is true. I think it's pretty clear Worley was the best option all along, even though many were clamoring for one of the freshmen.

Yeah I have always heard the Backup Qb is always the most popular person on the team until he plays. Since we have no Bowl game on the line can we please open the offense up and see what will happen, you know take her for a test drive for next season.

The tibia is the larger of the two bones.

*Perhaps I misread.....It is the larger of the two bones in the lower leg.

Dang it i knew that. Fibula is the smaller one. Scrubbed on tons of tibia plateau fractures just didnt think that through obviously.

Do you think he would have played this week, even if he was 100% healthy? I tend to think not.

No.
With a bowl on the line, I was thinking that Butch would throw everything at Saturday's game. I was a little upset (lol) to see Dobbs take the field in the second half.

I agree. If we had Worley, we win the other night. It's funny, not long ago I posted that it would be hilarious to see Worley redeem himself and be our savior. I never thought it would come at such a price. Be careful what you wish for I guess.

I guess that crazy Butch guy was actually telling the truth when he kept saying "the freshmen aren't ready" over and over again. Who knew?

How could you not put 2 and 2 together and know something like this was up?

While there had been no official word, the media had reported several times that he suffered a leg injury.

I guess, in a way, in could be good news for the future. If Butch wants to keep all four quarterbacks on the roster, he can just point out that the fourth-string guy is currently starting after the top three were all injured. :)

Butch gets it. :)

Seriously though, it's hard to imagine not having a quarterback on a roster better than what Worley showed early. And with all the hype the true freshman received, it's easy to understand why many wanted to see them get a shot. But the bottom line is: you don't see many true freshman playing in the SEC for a reason; and when you do, it's typically the exception, not the rule.
