Riley Ferguson

Based on performance thus far and the fact that there are now 3 other QB's that have SEC experience where he doesn't.

Things "might" change before the first game.

When he gets his opportunity, I hope he does more with it than the other three. I don't care who it is but with what we have seen so far nothing is sure and to think otherwise is just silly. The thing that seems most obvious is Worley being a senior will be the starter when the season starts and if the team is doing well, he will continue to be the starter until he gets hurt. The last thing we were going to see was both Dobbs and Ferg burn a redshirt in the same year. Also, Fergs opportunity would've come before Dobbs if he had not been hurt. I hope all four play outstanding when they get their chance on the field. But for anyone to say they know who will start next year for sure is really just trying to guess. I don't even think CBJ knows at this point. If he does, he is not tipping his hand at this point.

I think we can all agree that best case for team 118 is that Worley plays great and is the starter for each game. I hope that is the case.

But if we have to go to someone else I think Ferguson is the best option on our current roster.

. @UTCoachJones told me he's known @georgewhitfield for years & loves @WorleyBird_14 initiative to go work to get better w/ QB guru. #Vols

Anyone know anything about this?

Two QB's at an elite camp trying to get better while Fergie is at the tattoo parlor getting some new ink.

I'm a Dobbs fan but i have to say this uncalled for post is just, just, just ridiculous. All our QBs are Vols and should be treated accordingly.

Any Riley Ferguson discussion has to eventually become about his tattoos...good grief...None of those tattoos (calling them tats = ban IMO) are anything bad/immoral/vulgar. He explains what they are in the video, and all of them have a good purpose and are sentimental to him. A lot of the artwork involves honoring his brother who died. Let the boy play football.

So far there are things I've seen that make me concerned about his development as a mature young man (some minor attitude stuff from last year, probably unfair to judge at this point) and as a starting QB in the SEC (still has accuracy and decision-making issues). However, he also shows flashes of a huge arm and unbelievable overall talent.

So, at this point, that would all balance out to make him a: Typical redshirt freshman QB, competing for a starting job in the Spring.

As expected.

Nothing wrong with a QB that has "Tats":

..yeah :eek:lol:...Peterman had an "experience"

None of these candidates have cemented the job...those of us who feel that Riley has that extra it factor, have as much basis in fact as Worley (8 gs) Dobbs (4) and Peterman (1/2)...if Butch picks any of them,I would believe it's the best choice...due to this being what he does...for a living and all.

I could care less if a kid playing UT QB has ink on his arms, face, torso, legs, and bones in his ears and nose ... as long as he produces in the classroom and football field, is a winner, and makes no mistakes.

Bray fan?

Yep. Whitfield tweeted about Dobbs not long ago. I wonder if Dobbs and Worley are both out there together?

They are. They discussed it on TSR. They also said Dobbs had passed RF and was closing in on Worley after the spring game and several strong practices to close the spring. They don't know if RF or NP are somewhere working or not.

Wasn't spring game the last practice? How did dobbs pass after that?

Bray did not get it done on the football field, nor was he a winner at UT, so no, I'm not a fan of his. However he wore the uniform, ran through the T, and took the field on UT's behalf so he has my respect as former player.

I agree with this and think that the current rosters do not reach out to 70% of Bray's level at this moment.

I agree for this season, but long term if one of the other three stepped up, and took the job this year, 2015 would be very bright moving forward.

lol dude, dobbs is #2. And unless worley gets injured, he'll be the starter for all of 2014. Therefore, ferg is #3 and transfer bound. If gibson comes next year, ferg will have to be prepared to beat out dobbs for the #1 spot for 2015, and that's not a situation he'll be prepared for seeing how dobbs will be much more experienced by 2015. Unless the coaches are smoke screening us, i think ferg is ttu bound.

bump. Bump. Bump.
