We had 7 warehouses in the network outfitted like that. They were a single customer distribution point and that customer understood our goals (that cust was a $100B corp). The building were built for that purpose.

My current employer has full kitchens and hot food provided free every day across multiple sites. The real Corp building is quite new and has many amenities we don't have yet in our older bldg but they're coming. Not sure why you have such a hard time believing that this happens but maybe because it's evident you've been out of the workforce for quite a while. Things change

I have a hard time believing you because companies exist to make money. They can take money and pay you, or they can take money and coddle you with BS perks like food. Sounds like you're giving up money for things that make you feel good.

sorry to disappoint but I just started a few months ago and got about a 40% raise plus stock. Also get free food and soon to get really good coffee after renovations. My employer is known to be a great place to work and is rapidly expanding

Without employees a warehouse can't function. The ones with perks retain people at a much higher rate than those that don't. That company was very good at what they do and weren't losing money on those operations

I’ve been at a company that does it. The things he mentioned are pocket change for a company. Especially with a company selling something with high volume with low skills needed to process. They just need bodies to keep the cash flowing.

It produces a mixed bag in my opinion. Sure you get high retention. But you get a lot of retention of the guy that stays because the other company doesn’t have a ping pong table. Real aspiring type.
