There is a gas station near my house where a homeless woman lives in a tent out in the trees between the gas station and the next shopping center. She will very often scream at you while you’re pumping gas telling you who is watching you and all other sorts of odd conspiracies.

I cannot remember what reminded me of this woman but thought I’d share.

For this to be an issue marginally worth discussion, you have to believe the premise that Elon Musk relies on polls for company decisions. Then you’d have to assume that he believes they are “scientific”.

Looks more like a “hey, look over here” issue to me.

I don't understand most of your response to my post. You're not talking about it the way I'm talking about it. I haven't said it's an issue. I haven't said it's more than an engagement tool. I haven't said anybody said that.

Musk has used poll results to publicly validate decisions he has made with Twitter. Again, I am merely pointing out why that is either (a) dumb because they are manipulated and he's too stupid to realize that, or more likely (b) he doesn't care that it's manipulated because he wants to use it to manipulate the public (in other words, he's a bullshitter).

Right, but guessing there is a connection and having actual evidence that there is a connection are two completely different things. This aspect of the Twitter files was completely oversold, including here on VN, and some of those guys stopped showing up ITT.

Well, if the media as a whole was actually doing their jobs, they would be investigating it like it was the next Watergate.

Now, why aren't they? And if Twitter has files like that, I wonder how many ABC News or CNN or the WaPo have as well with government operatives "asking" to put a lid on such reports.

Because FBI had the actual evidence in December of 2019 after seizing the laptop, after having their Albuquerque office refuse it from computer shop owner Isaac months earlier. That's how they knew it was coming in fall of 2020; they had it for nearly a year prior, knew its provenance and yet still positioned it to tech/media as an impending Russian/Russia-like hack and dump operation. Yoel Roth, whom you referenced earlier, was the ex-Twit exec who fingered FBI as specifically mentioning it was connected to Hunter Biden, in Twit's FEC evidentiary filing.

Further,
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff on Friday accused President Donald Trump of handing the Kremlin a “propaganda coup” by touting a New York Post story detailing purported emails from Hunter Biden’s computer.

Schiff made the claim on CNN even though the Biden campaign and Hunter Biden have not disputed the veracity or the origin of the emails.

“This particular smear … has come from the Kremlin, and there it is from the Oval Office, another propaganda coup from Vladimir Putin, showing the president of the United States holding up a newspaper crediting Kremlin propaganda,” Schiff told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Adam Schiff Accuses Trump Of Helping Kremlin ‘Propaganda Coup’ By Touting Hunter Biden Emails

Which DNI John Ratcliffe soundly refuted:
“Let me be clear,” Ratcliffe declared. “The intelligence community doesn’t believe that, because there’s no intelligence that supports that, and we have shared no intelligence with Chairman Schiff or any other member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign. It’s simply not true.”

Ratcliffe went on to say that “this is exactly what I said I would stop when I became the director of national intelligence, and that’s people using the intelligence community to leverage some political narrative, and in this case apparently Chairman Schiff wants anything against his preferred political candidate to be deemed as not real.”

The director accused Schiff of “using, or attempting to use the intelligence community to say there’s nothing to see here,” before concluding, “Don’t drag the intelligence community into this. Hunter Biden’s laptop is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign, and I think it’s clear that the American people know that.”
