RIP Twitter

Is this enough evidence that Twitter was more than just a private company exercising their right to do whatever they want? No influence to censor from the government in any way? Even though they were requested by the FBI to censor certain people? Even though they used the FBI attorney to curate and release files to the public?

Evidence nowadays doesn't matter, and I don't trust new Twitter either. Hopefully it keeps improving.

For me , it doesn’t matter what comes out and I’m sure he’s sitting on a treasure trove that couldn’t be scrubbed in time , anytime there’s a social media platform that been hailed as a town hall where everyone is demanding truth and disinformation be censored then we find any association at all with government , it’s entities ,or it’s subcontractors advising them as to which is which , it should scare the hell out of anybody that puts any credibility into the platform or the government. 🤷‍♂️

Probably naive to expect "truth" (whatever that means these days) on social media anyway.

Why not tax it and use the money for drug education and addiction treatment? Make the financial penalties large for possession of untaxed drugs.

Back in the 90's California passed much higher tobacco taxes but the legislation required the taxes be used for aggressive anti-smoking campaigns. Within 2 years teen smoking dropped by 40%. Then Governor Pete Wilson wanted to get re-elected but wouldn't raise taxes to balance the budget so he got the law changed and took the money for the general budget. Within a year teen smoking rates were back where they originally started.

**Thread hijack threat!!** - I'll make this comment and refrain.

I don't think sales and production taxes can begin to cover the fallout costs of use/abuse which I've seen estimated in 1999 as $510B and in 2017 as >$1T. There is rationale aplenty to doubt the efficacy of treatment and education programs. I responded to what I perceived as a libertarian position on substance use/abuse which has typically been decriminalization or legalization, and treatment programs and the argument that the user is not harming anyone but themselves. I used to hold that position but no longer.

The revelations coming out will not matter, the fbi, cia doesn't eat its own (unless you're a Christian or conservative). They didn't do anything about the laptop, nothing will be done here. We are overstepping of boundaries in plain site but nothing has been done.

Not truth in totality but in part; there are fact-driven people who routinely do so. The problem is keeping these people from being fascistically 'curated' out of existence, whether by direct government coercion or a wink-nod by ideological executives who enjoy carve-out protections from government. I had a WTF moment days ago upon seeing Baker on Twit's legal team. He joined them in June 2020, well ahead of the 2020 election.

Before anyone freaks out, this is satire as well

And a damn fine job of it: "It is no exaggeration to say that Elon Musk’s annexation of Twitter is the most terrifying development in recent history. Only a fascist would seek to impose free speech on humanity."

What we have so far:
In response to Amash's question of whether government - at minimum the FBI - solicited or colluded with Twitter to suppress the Biden laptop story - check! In fact they did so weekly and followed up to see thing had been "handled". And they not only did this from FBI in DC HQ, but had an inside man in James Baker, former chief counsel of the FBI and then Twitter legal, to grease the wheels. Yeah, the guy involved firsthand in the Russia hoax FISAs and who withheld an email proving Sussman's guilt until the eve of his trial which the judge didn't allow because it was submitted 'too late'. FBI who'd been told by CIA that Carter page was an asset, twice, and that the dossier was a Clinton scheme to tie Trump to Russia and divert attention from her email scandal. Which media dutifully, unquestioningly followed suit.

Did the 'Biden team' regularly conspire with Twitter to ban accounts - check! and Twitter dutifully reported back on those as 'handled'.

But those darned polls Musk is using....is there anything you'd like to add @n_huffhines ? As a liberty oriented person of conscience, we'll take all volunteers concerned with our most valuable asset of free speech and standing against govco violating it!

The city of San Fran better get to the bottom of this scandal quickly. This is a public safety issue of the highest priority!

As long as Twit employees are using the floor and not latrines to relieve themselves, Twitter will be found in compliance.

Musk should rope off some of the sidewalk in front of the office and put up some nice cardboard boxes for employees to nap in.

He should move out of state like he did with SpaceX...

Plenty of cities would love for the Tweeter HQ to show up. Maybe not the crazy Californians though.

I expect we’ll see a move within the next year or 2.
