The pearl clutching about the suspension of accounts is beautiful. There's a big difference in the suspension due to breaking specific rules such as doxxing and suspension because of posting something that counters an agenda being pushed or a different ideology.

The funny thing about this Twitter reaction is it's the exact same reaction we get at Volnation when we have to moderate content or suspend an account. Everybody always thinks it's because their opinion is just too much for us to handle and we're trying to suppress their freedom of expression lol.

There was no uproar because it kept Trump out office. They would rather live in a world of polite corruption as long as it's their party doing the dirty work. They are complicit by watching it happen or allowing it to happen. 81M

I believe the account was editorialized but it broadly says "images" not just information. And yeah, the point is they got harassed because of public information that was getting redistrubuted to a hateful audience....and that's apparently what Elon is worried about with public information he is banning from Twitter.

They got harassed by the videos they posted themselves, not by private information posted against their consent. Hard to argue that you don't consent to the information being out there when YOU are the one who put it out there, right? You might not like the audience that ends up looking at it, but that's not up to you. Is there not a difference in your eyes from a person posting a live geographical location of someone vs. simply taking someone's stupid post and amplifying it to the masses?

They got harassed because someone else posted their content to their audience without their consent, right? If you do count that as consent, then flying is consent, right?

FTR, it should all be allowed if we want a free speech platform.

This thread is all over the place so I apologize in advance if you've offered previously, but what is your position with Twitter. Do you want it to be a free speech platform? a privately held company with established guidelines? Both? Neither? All the above? None of the above? I like pie?
